Your Dream Does Not Take A Village, But It Does Take This #1 Thing

Whoever told you "it takes a village" ... likely hasn't been to an actual village. Yes, I get the expression, referring to the need for multiple people to accomplish a goal or task. But having been born in a village, I can confidently say that a mishmash of pitchforks, shovels, and shouting isn't going to solve the challenges I face today.

The work of today, and more importantly tomorrow, requires a "team." A small, nimble, elite group of operators, who individually possess certain skills, which when combined under strong leadership are able to do the unthinkable.

My first teammate was Arek Dvornechuk. President & CEO of Ebaq Design. A thinker, designer, strategist, and businessman unlike any I had met before. After nearly a year of trying to find someone who could embrace my vision and bring the aesthetic quality, I wanted our customers to experience, I had just about given up. But as I tell my clients now, that is just the moment, where you have to look up and keep going.

I recall the day my first set of business cards arrived, and how the specially designed gold foil Arek had worked wth MOO to incorporate, twinkled as it caught the sunlight. Our logo is embossed on one side and my name on the other. It was the most incredible moment I'd ever experienced because it blew open the door to a new world of possibilities.

I can't draw a stick figure to save my life and even feel awkward when drawing simple process diagrams. Hene I needed someone who could only create a logo, but architect the foundation for the future business I intended to build. Arek designed every single detail down to the number of degrees of tilt that an image should have in one of our presentations.

Combining my leadership and vision with Arek's talent and skill, we created three unique and beautiful brands. While none are trading on the Nasdaq and one is permanently shelved, all speak to how a select group of elite individuals with special skills can make dreams come true.
