Your Dish Soap is Harming YOU!

Your Dish Soap is Harming YOU!

Let's face it, washing dishes isn't glamorous. But what if I told you your dish soap might be secretly harboring some not-so-great stuff? Things like formaldehyde-releasers, hormone disruptors, and carcinogens. Yikes!

The good news is, healthier cleaning is easy. Here are some tips: ??

The Dirty on Dish Soap Ingredients

Many conventional dish soaps contain iffy ingredients. Think:

  • Irritants: SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), artificial fragrances, preservatives. These mess with your skin, eyes, and respiratory system.
  • Endocrine Disruptors: Phthalates, parabens, triclosan. These interfere with your hormones.
  • Carcinogens (!!!): Formaldehyde, 1,4-dioxane, some artificial colors. Enough said.

Finding a Dish Soap That's Actually Clean

Don't worry, ditching the toxins doesn't mean sacrificing clean dishes. Plenty of natural options perform as well (or even better!). I looked at a bunch – here are a couple of standouts (not sponsored):

Tips for Squeaky-Clean (and Safe) Dishes

  • Rinse Thoroughly: Hot water, scrubbing, and microfiber cloths.
  • Skip the Fragrance: Unless you know it's from a good source.
  • Filter Your Water: Removes toxins that last on your dishes even after a thorough rinse.

So there you have it! Simple swaps, a little extra rinsing, and you're on your way to healthier dishwashing
