Welcome to Your Daily Bread for February 9-15, 2025, by Rev. Apelu Poe, Ph.D!

Key Torah Code for this Second Week of the Proclamation Season:

This past week, we deciphered the “Pikudei” (The Sum of) code, Exodus 38:21-40:58 to see the answer to our million-dollar question: What’s in it for you or me (WIIFM)? The code teaches us that if we are to fulfil the divine task to which we have been called, namely, the building of God’s kingdom, then we must recognise the fact that “no person is an island.” In other words, we have to understand that each one of us is not only part of the whole, but that we are each held accountable for the sum or the totality of the work entrusted to us.

This week we will look at the “Vayikra” (And he [God] called) code, Leviticus 1:1-6:7 to see the answer to our million-dollar question: What’s in it for you or me (WIIFM)?

Basic Principle of Our Judaic-Christian Faith:

Text:

Now the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meeting, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When anyone of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering…without blemish” (Leviticus 1:1-3).

Basic Principle:

Our offering to God, in whatever form it may take, must be done without any blemish.

“The very existence of a code in the Bible that reveals the future proves that we are not alone. Since none of us can see across time, some alien intelligence must once intervene in this world, at least at the time that the Bible was first written.” The Bible Code II: The CountDown, I’ll get to the point in a minute.

But, first, let me say Talofa, Welcome, and Shalom to you, my friends in the name of “Yeshua HaMashiach” Jesus the Messiah! It’s Apelu Poe here, your Torah-Bible Code teacher residing here in LaVergne, Tennessee, USA. As they say in our mother tongue, Malo le soifua manuia! Faafetai fo’i le fai tatalo! Congratulations on your good health! Thanks also for the prayers. May our God always grant us his lovingkindness!

Getting back to the point. If you have followed God’s calendar, which dictates and foretells the events of our lives to which the above quote refers, you will know that from February 9-15, 2025, we have entered the second week of the Proclamation Season.

What is the Proclamation season? Following immediately after the Presentation Season, the Proclamation Season is the 5th season of God’s calendar, with the Church Officers’ Dedication, on February 23rd, as its festival. Just as the name itself suggests, the Proclamation Season is a time in which we witness Jesus going from place to place proclaiming the secret about the kingdom of God, thus calling for unity and accountability.

The biblical basis that supports this can be found in Mark 1:14 where it says, ‘Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee preaching the Gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Question: Do we have any Biblical witness that further supports the truth about this Proclamation Season? Of course, we do. Let’s look first at the Torah textual evidence, And the Lord spoke to Moses and all Israel, saying, “You shall proclaim on the same day: there shall be a holy convocation to you; you shall do no regular work. This is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations” (Leviticus 23:21).

In the Prophetic literature, we hear Jesus, taking this concept and acknowledging, saying, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favour, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn” (Isaiah 61:1-2).

Then in 2 Chronicles, the Chronicler, put it this way, “So they established a decree to proclaim throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem: for they had not kept it in great numbers in such sort as it is written” (2 Chronicles 30:5).

And, finally, in the New Testament, Luke summarized it all, saying, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Now, before we look at the Torah portion for this second week of the Proclamation Season, let me also say “thank you” to all of you, my regular readers. You’re a fantastic community of believers made up of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths. You are amazing because you take the time to access my Torah-Bible Codes teaching on Facebook and LinkedIn from week to week.

Trust me, you deserve a big congratulations because you have helped make my post a top-performing and widely-read weekly post on social media. I’m sure you realize how much I appreciate your kind support.

I am even more excited about the possibility of your partnering with me.in building a flagship global organization called “The Master’s Mind International” which offers exactly that sort of inspiration and guidance to reach the lost souls.

I know that in times of global turmoil and geo-political, socio-economic, religious uncertainty and disconnect, our global religious community needs direction, purpose, and hope.

That’s why I am as delighted as heaven to offer you my Torah gift for this first week of the Proclamation Season which I call “Your Daily Bread for February 9-15, 2025.” And you should check out the two incredible offers made exclusively for you, my global readers at the end of this post.

Why am I saying this? Well, for those of you who have been following my teaching, I’m saying this because, as you might have noticed, I have been using this same gift that God has given me for the past 40 years to help guide the destiny of those whose spiritual welfare God has entrusted to me. And now that I have retired from the ordained ministry in July 2021, I want you to have free access to it.

My pastoral desire is simply this: For you to be the person God has created you to be, a man-God, or a woman-God, the microcosm of God’s universe created by God for higher accomplishment, engineered by God for success and endowed by God with the seed for greatness.

My prayer, then, is that you would be able to live according to God’s time so that you may discern God’s Divine path for your life and how it is that God wants you to live to best receive his blessing and shine his holy light.

Your Benefits from My Torah Gift I Can Give You This Week:

So what exactly can you expect from the Torah gift I’m giving you this second week of the Proclamation Season? Well, the first and foremost is self-knowledge.

Why self-knowledge at such a time of unprecedented circumstances for all of us? Because, as we’ve been stressing from week to week, life transformation will never happen without self-knowledge.

Here’s the point. Until we realize what we are, and who we are: we are the microcosm of God’s universe, created by God for higher accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed by God with the seed for greatness, we will never be able to get out of this geo-political, socio-economic turmoil that we now find ourselves in, no matter where we are in the world today.

So, the Torah gift I’m giving you this second week of the Proclamation Season will help you and me become aware of the fact that our offering to God, in whatever form it may take, must be done without any blemish.

Why? Because it is our response to God for what He has done for all of us, His children when we were destined to die an eternal death.

God, out of His Divine gracious initiatives, offered to pay the redemption through the precious blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we may all have life and have it abundantly.

Perhaps, it is in this light that the US House Minority Leader, Hakeem Jeffries’ latest message on February 4, deserved GOP leaders’ attention in the U.S. House of Congress.

It’s not a secret that Democratic leaders have been under intensifying pressure from their base to stand up more aggressively and more assertively to the Trump administration’s many abuses.

Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii, for example, announced that he’s putting procedural holds on all State Department nominees.

Around the same time, a wide variety of congressional Democrats didn’t just issue tweets or press releases about the White House’s campaign against the U.S. Agency for International Development, they showed up in person at USAID headquarters and delivered forceful remarks on camera soon after.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a key demand Monday as a March 14 government funding deadline approaches, saying President Donald Trump’s recent federal spending freeze ‘must be choked off’ as part of any bipartisan deal to keep the government open, ‘if not sooner.’

Listen, again, to Jeffries’ words here, “I have made clear to House Republican leadership that any effort to steal taxpayer money from the American people, end Medicaid as we know it or defund programs important to everyday Americans, as contemplated by the illegal White House Office of Management and Budget order, must be choked off in the upcoming government funding bill, if not sooner.”

Why am I sharing this with you in this second week of the Proclamation Season? Because it highlights the importance of self-knowledge.

Until we are made aware of the fact that there’s evil in this world and that the evil is real, we will never understand that this evil can be brought to an end. How? By the supremacy of God’s Spirit over one’s desires.

It is no wonder why Peter challenged us, saying, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).

The second benefit that my Torah gift will give you this second week of the Proclamation season is lending a helping hand in times of need. It’ll help you offer support or assistance to someone who is going through a difficult situation, whether it be by providing practical help, emotional support, or simply being present to listen and offer encouragement; essentially, being there for someone when they need it most.

Why is this important for us, Jews, Muslims, Christians, and people of other faiths at such a morally, and spiritually challenging time as this? Because it highlights the importance of community spirit and togetherness.

Here’s the thing. In today's fast-paced world, while technology has made it easier to send money or share a message, the essence of genuine, hands-on support can sometimes get lost. While monetary contributions are invaluable, there are moments in life where practical, tangible assistance can make a world of difference.

Perhaps it is for this reason that on Friday, February 7, Debra Messing, a Jewish activist, issued a public statement that she would never stop fighting against antisemitism.

Hours after Hamas launched its attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, Debra Messing spoke out on social media against the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.

“An unprovoked massacre,” Messing wrote. “This is not a two-sided conflict. This is a coordinated terrorist attack. The only thing that should be in your mind and heart today is compassion and prayers for Israel.”

More than 15 months after the Hamas attacks, Messing continued to use her platform to share her unwavering support for Israel and combat the global spread of antisemitism. And while Messing says some other Hollywood stars have been reluctant to speak on the conflict, her voice keeps getting louder.

“I don’t think I’ve ever felt as proud of being a Jew,” Messing told CNN in an interview in December. “It has awakened in me a pride and a strength I think that was lying dormant, and I think I was too scared to reveal.”

The “Will & Grace” star, who is Jewish, has been speaking out against antisemitism for years. But October 7 changed her life, she said.

“I think I was in the shadows before October 7,” Messing said. “I didn’t realize how much the antisemitism that I have experienced throughout my entire life had affected my ability to be out and proud, so to speak, as a Jew.”

Why am I sharing this with you during this second week of the Proclamation Season? Because it emphasizes the importance of lending a helping hand in times of need.

It is no wonder why the author of the Book of Hebrews challenged us, saying, “Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices" (Hebrews 13:16).

The third benefit that my Torah gift will give you this second week of the Proclamation Season is opportunity cost. It’ll help you figure out the value of the best alternative that is forgone when choosing one option over another.

Why is this important for us Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths at such a turbulent time as this? Because it can help all of us consider the potential benefits that we are missing out on.

Let us think about the following examples of opportunity cost:

1. Spending money on a movie

If you spend money and time at a movie, you can't spend that time and money on something else, like buying a book that you can read.

2. Renting machinery

If a construction company rents machinery, they can't spend that money on buying their own machinery. And,

3. Upgrading equipment

If a business spends money upgrading equipment, it can't spend that money on something else.

Question: Could this be the main reason why on Friday, February 7, dozens of countries backed the International Criminal Court after Trump sanctions?

Answer: We do not know. What we cannot question is the fact that dozens of countries have expressed "unwavering support" for the International Criminal Court (ICC) after US President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on its staff.

A majority of member states, including the UK, Germany and France, said that the ICC was a vital pillar of the international justice system.

Trump announced the sanctions after hosting Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the first foreign leader to visit him since returning to power.

Last year, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza which Israel denies as well as a Hamas commander. The US has condemned the court's "shameful moral equivalency" between Israel and Hamas.

The US and Israel do not recognise the authority of the ICC, the only global court with powers to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. It has also previously launched investigations into US citizens.

The ICC counts 125 member states around the world, including the UK and many European nations.

The UK, France and Germany were among the 79 signatories to a joint statement issued on Friday to condemn Trump's executive order. Australia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy were among those absent.

Why am I sharing this incident with you in this second week of the Proclamation Season? Because it stresses the importance of opportunity cost. Until we are prepared to talk honestly about the question of global justice, there will never be any peace in this world.

It is no wonder why the apostle Paul challenged us, saying, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity” (Colossians 4:5).

The fourth benefit that my Torah gift will give you this second week of the Proclamation Season is the time structure of production. It’ll help you describe how production happens over time, with distinct stages where inputs are transformed into outputs, often involving different lengths of time for different production processes, highlighting the importance of the temporal dimension in the production process.

Why is this important for us Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths at such a morally and spiritually challenging time as this? Because it helps us to calculate the period required to manufacture a product from the beginning of production to the finished end product.

Here’s the thing. Understanding the time structure of production is crucial for firms when making investment decisions, as it helps them evaluate the potential returns on capital based on the time it takes to produce goods.

Perhaps, this is why on Friday, February 7, we saw China lashing out at US coercion after Panama declined to renew its infrastructure agreement with Beijing following Washington’s threat to take back the Panama Canal.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a briefing that China firmly opposes the U.S. smearing and undermining the Belt and Road cooperation through means of pressure and coercion.

Assistant Foreign Minister Zhao Zhiyuan also met Panama’s ambassador to China and lodged solemn representations on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday.

The Belt and Road Initiative is President Xi Jinping’s signature foreign policy drive to bind China closer to countries in the region and beyond by building roads, railways, airports, power plants and other infrastructure.

Panama’s decision to walk away from it was seen as a concession to the U.S. over the canal after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned Panamanian leader José Raúl Mulino on Sunday that Panama must immediately reduce what President Donald Trump says is Chinese influence over the canal area or face potential retaliation from the United States.

Mulino has rejected pressure from the new U.S. government to discuss ownership of a waterway that is vital to global trade.

Despite that, some believe Panama may be open to a compromise under which canal operations on both sides are taken away from the Hong Kong-based Hutchison Ports company, which was given a 25-year no-bid extension to run them.

Why am I sharing this with you during this second week of the Proclamation Season? Because it emphasizes the importance of the time structure of production.

It is no wonder why God himself assures us, saying, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

The fifth benefit that my Torah gift will give you this second week of the Proclamation Season is moral clarity. It’ll help you understand how morals guide and inform our lives.

Why is this important for us Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths at such a turbulent time as this? Because it calls for a strong personal commitment to positive change and a deeper understanding of the consequences of your behaviour, even when not directly visible.

A Moral philosopher by the name of Susan Neiman makes the tools of her trade relevant to real life in Moral Clarity, steering us clear of political dogma to offer instead a framework for forming clear opinions and taking responsible action on today’s urgent political and social questions.

Neiman reaches back to the classic virtues such as happiness, reason, reverence, and hope that were held high by every Enlightenment thinker and draws on literature, evolutionary theory, and contemporary research to show that the pursuit of moral clarity is open to all who are committed to these ideals, believers and nonbelievers alike.

Perhaps, this is why on Saturday, February 8, the Baltic nations felt the need to disconnect from Russia's power grid.

The three Baltic states on Saturday cut ties with Russia's power grid to join the European Union's network, the culmination of a years-long process that gained urgency with Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, all former Soviet republics that are now in the European Union and NATO had wanted to block Russia's ability to geopolitically blackmail them via the electricity system.

"We have removed any theoretical possibility of Russia using energy (grid) control as a weapon," Lithuanian Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas told AFP on Saturday.

The European Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jorgensen, said: "This is indeed a historic day."

"I like the light better when there are no Russian electrons involved," he told reporters in Estonian capital Tallinn.

"It's important to underline that this is about security... No European country should be dependent on Russia for anything," he added.

The switch became more urgent after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, spooking the Baltic states into thinking they could be targeted.

Why am I sharing this with you during this second week of the Proclamation Season? Because it emphasizes the importance of being crystal clear on our moral and civil responsibility.

It is no wonder why King Solomon cautioned us, saying, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them” (Proverbs 11:3).

The Historical Proof that Supports our Need for Your Daily Bread that Sustains Us Spiritually:

Does it surprise you, then, that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, did not forget to remind us about these things? That is why last week you heard Jesus speaking to us, saying, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you that everything that is written about me in the Law of Moses [Torah] and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled…” (Luke 24:44).

Jesus, then, did something which I thought was quite remarkable and quite extraordinary. He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Jesus said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.

And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:45-49).

Overview Summary of this Week’s Torah Portion

With this in mind, let us look at the Torah portion for this second week of the Proclamation Season, Leviticus 1:1-6:7 to see the answer to our million-dollar question: What’s in it for you or me (WIIFM)?

In the Hebrew language (God’s sacred tongue) from which our English Bible translation was taken, this week’s Torah portion is called, “Vayikra” translated as “And he [God] called,” see Leviticus 1:1-3.

To understand this, one has to, first of all, identify the double references in the text. On a superficial linguistic level which is intended primarily for the Jewish audience, the reading focuses on the code “Vayikra” translated as “And he [God] called.” Thus, in the opening part of the reading, we hear God calling to Moses from the tent of meeting, and communicating to him the laws of the animal and meal sacrificial offerings brought in the sanctuary.

In the central part of the reading, we learn that these laws include:

(1). the ascending offering that is wholly raised to God by the fire on top of the altar;

(2). five varieties of meal-offering prepared with fine flour, olive oil and frankincense;

(3). the peace offering whose meat was eaten by the one bringing the offering, after parts are burned on the altar and parts are given to the priests;

(4). the different types of “sin offering” brought to atone for transgressions committed erroneously by the high priest, the entire community, the king or the ordinary Jew; and

(5) the “guilt offering” brought by one who has misappropriated property of the sanctuary, who is in doubt as to whether he transgressed a divine prohibition, or who has committed a “betrayal against God” by swearing falsely to defraud a fellow man.

The reading ends with the priest making atonement for the sin of the guilty Israelite.

Indeed, on a profound theological level, this week’s Torah portion, “And he [God] called” has an important message for us, the Church, and the Body of Christ.

This message is evident when the Torah portion is interpreted in the context of this second week of the Proclamation season that culminates in the Church Officers’ Dedication. And that is our offering to God in whatever form that it may take must be done without blemish.

How do we know that? Listen, again, to our text for this week, ‘The Lord called Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying, “When any man of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering…without blemish,” (Leviticus 1:1-3).

Why, because it is our response to what God has done for us through the precious blood of his Son.

It is no wonder why the prophet Isaiah acknowledged, saying, “Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He was despised and rejected by men…Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise him; he has put him to grief when he makes himself an offering for sin…” (Isaiah 53:1-5, 10).

Indeed, our Lord was hung on the cross because of your sin and mine. How can we not remember his voice, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning?” (Psalms 22:1).

Perhaps, it was for this reason that the apostle Paul urged us this week, saying, “Let each of you look not only to his interests; but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who though he was in the form of God did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped; but emptied himself taking the form of a servant…he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross,” (Philippians 2:4-8).
