Even though summer isn’t here yet, it is important to be prepared in advance! Summer often brings more vacations as families enjoy having their kids home from school and everyone looks forward to warm weather and beach trips.

Think you’ve been hacked? Check out some of the signs below. Remember, not every sign is one you have been hacked, but it is important to take each possibility of risk seriously. If you or your company have been compromised, it is key to implement your incident response plan and work with a team of cybersecurity professionals.

  • Unexpected account activity (such as being logged out unexpectedly or suspicious logins).
  • Changes to your account settings.
  • Loss of access to an account.
  • Your device is behaving unexpectedly–for example, it might seem extremely slow or applications may crash unexpectedly.
  • You notice missing data, or odd data is now stored on your device.
  • Your colleagues or friends are complaining about odd messages from your personal or work accounts.
  • You notice unusual financial activity through your accounts.

It is important to note that this is not a complete list – if you notice anything suspicious, or believe your account has been compromised, it is important to take action immediately.
