Trust opens opportunities, creates speed, and fosters creativity. Living in Scandinavia, I realise that trust is a currency that creates efficiency, fosters innovation, and reduces stress. Building personal trust as a virtue can be one of the most valuable lessons for Generation Z who are embarking on their life journey and have lived with the virtual world since birth. Personal trust has the power to transcend your ethnicity, background, and net worth. Overtime your name becomes the promissory note that is unquestionable. Start to embrace trust and build your personal brand of trust.

1.  Humility: Humility comes with self confidence and a strong self-belief. Humility is being vulnerable and accepting that you are human. Being opened to learn, open to feedback and having self-awareness are the cornerstones of humility. Some of the greatest leaders and our role models stick out for their humility. Humility is one of the most powerful attributes of personal growth. The simplest experience of humility is being a parent when you start accepting your new-born child unconditionally and let go of your ego states. In today’s world, humility is construed as having low self confidence or being an underdog! Sometimes your humble disposition speaks a thousand words and stands at the forefront of your reputation. Humility is the building block of trust.
2.  Honesty: Honesty in simple terms is saying the truth. Sharing both the good news and bad news, accepting your mistakes and being transparent are some of the core values of being honest. Honesty should be the religion at home and should be non-negotiable. All dilemmas in life can be resolved by being honest. Being honest with your connections and your friends builds trust in you as a person and creates a springboard for your success and growth. Your honest self can create unbelievable breakthroughs in times of need. Humans are predisposed to being honest and have a good bent of mind. Your honesty builds a web of honest connections in life that becomes your net worth.
3. Consistency: Staying consistent is the foundation to build trust. Delivering on time, staying to your promises, sticking to your word and being reliable are some of the qualities that you could be an example for. The relentless passion to stay consistent has a compounding effect over time. Your word becomes your bond. Honesty and consistency go hand in hand. To be consistent you need to think of the larger good and willing to accept some pain to get the gains. Staying consistent and reliable is one of the pillars for building personal trust
4. Patience: Trust is built over time. It needs steadfastness and patience. Trust is not a by-product of instant and patience is not fast food. In this virtual world, being patient is viewed as being sloppy. Everything is about clicks, views, going viral and gaining visibility. Patience is about staying calm and taking some pains and working hard to reach our goals. Being patient is to be inclusive and accepting the differences in people. When you are patient, you build trust with your fellow beings since they believe in you and feel comfortable to work with you. Remember to be impatient with dishonesty and inconsistency.
