Your "CREATIVITY" is Killing Your Sales

If KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) was a Super Bowl ad, it would be the ad for Yeezy. $7 million was spent on the ad placement for his Yeezy commercial but the ad itself was a literal selfie video Kanye shot in his car.

All he said was "The idea is I want you to go to Yeezy.com and I got some shoes and mmmm that's it." That ad resulted in $19 million ON DAY ONE.

We need to stop doing the most with our marketing strategies. I've been trying to crack the code for LinkedIn content marketing over the last few months and I really hit my stride with sharing behind the scenes content with a good photo. Can it be repetitive? YUP! Does it work YASSSSSSSSSS.

Don't let your boredom keep you from making sales. There is a time for experimentation and there is a time for implementation. Once you find the signals in your strategy, double down rinse and repeat. If you need some spice in your life, get a hobby. That's why I've rejoined Rotary and I recently joined our community band, Lynchburg Pops, as a choral singer.

Your business is not a toy. It's a business. Stop playing with strategies that work because you need something to occupy your time. It's confusing your audience. Kayne was clear as crystal about what he sold and where you could go buy it. Sure he's a celebrity but literally that's all you need to do. You just have to do it enough times for your audience to find you. He paid $7 million to reach the Super Bowl audience. If you don't have Super Bowl money...what can you practically do?

  1. Post to YouTube
  2. Post to YouTube
  3. ...Post to YouTube ??

But seriously, in 2024 YouTube is the play and here's why. Content posted to YouTube can still get views years after posting so you can use it to build a passive income engine for your business. You can leverage SEO tools like TubeBuddy to make it easier to get found AND videos that rank on YouTube are likely to rank on Google because they are owned by the same company.

Breathe. Chill out. Marketing doesn't have to be hard and it can even be fun! Test until you get traction and then do it over and over and over again.
