Your competitors are winning with ChatGPT 4, and you're not.
21st century marketer - getting started with AI

Your competitors are winning with ChatGPT 4, and you're not.

Here's why.

Many clients that I have connected recently with give me the same version of

“AI is for bigger companies, Amogha. We are a small organisation with a little over 50 people. I dont think we need automation just yet. And wouldnt using ChatGPT f*** up our SEO? I mean thats what I have heard.”

Earlier I used to vehemently push for process gap analysis to understand just where AI and ChatGPT 4 can really help (especially marketing). But now I know better.

The biggest pain for most of my clients is that they are scared of the pace at which AI is growing. They never speak about it. But its ALWAYS there.

And guess what? About 5 months back that was me.

So for this newsletter I decided to deep dive into this and create a starting point for every small organization. I know learning and implementing AI is absolutely worth spending money on.

So then,

What is currently stopping brands and marketers from using AI?

Complexity in understanding

Many brands struggle to grasp how AI can be applied to their specific needs. The perceived complexity of integrating AI into existing systems can be daunting.

Solution? Providing clear, jargon-free explanations of AI applications and benefits can demystify the technology. Many marketers can sit down and learn about tools quickly (max 1 hour) and figure out how to apply them

Cost and ROI

Small to medium-sized businesses often believe AI solutions are too expensive for their budgets. Its literally $20 (worth 10 really mediocre coffees a month)

Solution for this is simple. Research on affordable, scalable AI tools that fit various budget sizes encourages adoption. a.k.a ChatGPT4 to begin with. For agencies of small size, this is a game-changer.

Data Privacy and Security

There's apprehension about how AI handles data, with fears of compromising customer privacy. This one is highly debatable.

Solution? Learn best practices and emphasize AI's data protection measures and compliance with privacy laws for a particular tool when your clients ask for it.

Skill Gaps

A lack of in-house AI expertise or understanding of how to effectively use AI tools like ChatGPT 4 limits adoption. The real reason that people dont use ChatGPT is because there is a learning curve.

Just sign up for this newsletter (just kidding). There are really brilliant AI youtubers and AI Marketing experts even here on LinkedIn who can definitely help bridge the skill gap that you may be facing with your team. (will send you my favs - send me a DM)

As a small business, using AI is about strategy and not about tools.

You can get started with AI, especially using ChatGPT 4 correctly. While these suggestions below are obviously not applicable to all small businesses, most of them can use it to get started.

Identify specific needs with gap analysis - The 80-20 rule

Focus on one or two areas where AI can have the most IMMEDIATE impact, such as customer service (via chatbots) or product recommendations.

Exploring AI tools - Be your own Sherlock

Look for AI platforms offering trial periods that cater to small businesses. This can be a cost-effective way to test the waters.

Look out for existing data - Look at your field-notes.

Use the data you already collect (with customer consent) to personalize experiences and improve services.

Seek expert advice - Get mentored (the cheaper way)

Consult with AI experts and digital transformation consultants to incorporate AI integration for your business/industry.

For many brands, especially small to medium-sized ones, the complex world of AI is like an annoying never ending maze—intimidating and filled with (scary) unknowns.

Yet, like any maze, there are guides and signposts available, from educational resources that simplify AI's complexities to scalable solutions tailored for any budget.

This is a great place to start.

But I know there are people who are a little ahead in this game.

If you are one of them, I have compiled a list 30 small brands that are using AI in their operations, personalization, micro SaaS and overall marketing.

And if you are serious, send a DM and we can run through that together.
