Too many RV dealers today are spending a fortune on digital marketing, but then wasting 2/3 to 3/4 of the opportunities (leads) generated. Most are still running a website that's nothing more than a collection of digital classified listings... or a digital brochure with very few true calls-to-action. Traffic is driven to them with the hope of getting an actionable lead. These websites do not gather a lot of information, nor do they truly engage with customers inquiring about their products. Consequently, the "leads" produced tend to be of less than optimal quality.
How Are Opportunities Processed?
Once received, these leads are passed on to the sales team where hopefully a contact attempt is initiated, the lead is personally engaged and a connection is made… “Hopefully”. Sometimes no call is made. Sometimes there is no connection or it’s a passive connection such as voice mail. Often sales teams make only a single attempt, or try just a few times and give up. Statistics show five, six, seven times or more are usually required to get results. Management is often too focused on other issues to track and hold the staff accountable for results.

What happens when a connection is made? Far too often, results are poor. The typical sales staff does not handle the contact very well. Many businesses do not have a trained process in place. They don't have a good script. They don't follow a good plan. It is far too common for the staff to pretty much blow off the opportunity unless the contact is perceived as a “ready-to-buy” buyer who's prepared to move forward RIGHT NOW. Does your Business have a plan and is it consistently trained, followed and measured?
