Your Comfort Zone is Killing Your Dreams
Your comfort zone is where your dreams go to die. You're either green and growing, or you're brown and dying, there’s no in-between. Your comfort kills your ambition. Instead of being comfortable all the time, how can you make yourself feel uncomfortable? How can you push yourself just a little bit more every single day?
The reason why your comfort zone exists is that there are parts of our brain that create fear. If you step out of your comfort zone, do something that you’ve never done before, do something that scares you, you know and understand that you will not die, but it doesn't mean that your subconscious, the reptilian part of your brain does.
Nobody has a dream that's inside of their comfort zone.
Your dream is probably something that is so far out of your comfort zone, that it makes you uncomfortable.
Sitting on your couch, playing around on Instagram, scrolling through reels and Tik Tok videos is easy, it's not hard, and it's going to kill your ambition.
Staying in the same job and living in the same house for thirty years could be comfortable but while doing that, are you green and growing or brown and dying?
Are you forcing yourself out of your comfort zone? Are you growing yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually? Or are you staying stagnant in every area of your life?
You're either progressing or you're regressing.
With all of the changes that have been happening in the world, if you're waiting until things go back to normal, you're going to be left behind. Some of the biggest thinkers in our world are popping up right now. Some of the biggest companies that are going to change the world are popping up right now. Usually, when there are big shifts in the world like there have been over the past year to 18 months, that's when the people who come out and change the world are found, that's when they show up.
What you should be doing right now is consciously trying to push yourself out of your comfort zone every single day.
Start your day by leaning forward.
What do I mean by that? You can either start your day leaning back and wait for the world to happen, and wait for things to change and be on the defense, waiting for things to go back to normal or you can start your day leaning forward, creating the world that you want to live in and being on the offense.
The people that are on the defense are going to wake up in six months or a year or two years and are going to realize that they’re far behind. Why? Because those on the offense were leaning forward and doubling down while they had been leaning back.
You cannot stay the same. Now is the time for massive growth, for massively pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, growing in every facet. It's not the time to sit on the sideline and just hope that things go back to normal.
Step up and start to kick some ass.
You're needed more than you ever have been. How can you step up? How can you create something powerful in the upcoming months, in the upcoming year? What is it that you want to do? What is it that you're trying to create in this world?
If you're feeling demotivated it is because number one, you're stuck in your comfort zone and comfort kills ambition.
It's hard to be ambitious when you're just sitting around doing the same thing over and over again.
And number two, maybe you're thinking too much about yourself and not what you can do for the greater good. The people who become the richest entrepreneurs are the people who can solve the world's problems. Maybe you should think about how you can make a change for the world.
Remember that while you are stepping forward, it might sometimes feel like taking a step back. This doesn’t mean that you are falling or failing.
Sometimes while moving ahead, you might have to move sideways, you might even have to go backward. That’s still movement. All that matters is that these steps that you're taking are going towards the path that you want.
Are you staying stagnant or are you moving?
Life isn’t always comfortable but it's better to be on the offense than the defense.
Double down, try not to be fearful. Go out there and push harder than ever. The world has never been so interesting and has never had so many opportunities in front of you. So don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone. Now is the time to double down, to show your worth, and show the world what and who you are by stepping out of your comfort zone.
