Over four generations of coaching, I have determined that?every entrepreneur needs a compassionate coach to cheer them on. Leading can be a lonely and sometimes thankless job.?
Here are some words of wisdom from YOUR Chief Encouragement Officer:?
- Of course, you are going to make mistakes,?learn from them, and move on.
- Be decisive, think things through based on your best information, and then ACT.
- Always have a plan B, so you are not stuck in the muck if plan A doesn't materialize.
- You are in the hiring, requiring, inspiring, firing, training, and communications business.
- Surround yourself with great people. You can't grow and scale without them.
- Hire the best and fire the pests.
- Overcome the fear of financials and?become a master of the movement and management of your money.
- Learn to read, understand, and manage the margins.
- Learn how to read a balance sheet. It's the one document that shows whether you are growing or falling behind.
- Don't get caught up in the thick of thin stuff.
- If it's a job you hate - delegate.
- Become a master of paying attention?by listening, asking questions, and observing.
- Never pass up the opportunity to praise people for excellent work.
- Pay yourself first. The top line is for ego; the bottom line is how savvy entrepreneurs keep score.?It's not what you make but what you keep that counts.
- Energy management is more important than time management.
- Commit to being a lifetime learner.
- Master the art of work-life integration.?Recognize that recovery time is just as valuable as work time.
- HAVE FUN.
If you do these things, you will stack the deck in your favor to grow and sustain a healthy business.?Enjoy the benefits of being an entrepreneur, and have fun!
