?The DIMM-SH7723 module from Emtrion has proven to be highly effective since its release in 2009, facilitating the implementation of numerous successful customer projects.

Unfortunately if you are one of those customers, due to the discontinuation of the Renesas processor, the module will soon be unavailable. Don’t worry you will be sent a separate EOL notice when that time is due if you are an existing customer for this module.

Also you may or may not know Emtrion also have a highly successful module in a different form called the emSTAMP-Argon with the STM32MP157 processor from STMicroelectronics.

Alongside this Emtrion is currently working on a new development based on the same STM32MP157 processor as a retrofit to the SH7723. This will align with Emtrion’s DIMM family range to support existing projects or facilitate new designs.

In direct comparison to its predecessor, the DIMM-STM32MP157 new development will stand out with improved performance and more memory (e.g. Dual-Core processor with up to 650MHz / 512MB RAM and 8GB eMMC).

Once again long-term availability of 10+ years can be guaranteed, with the latest software version and Yocto support. So you can take this opportunity to upgrade your security and features at the same time.

This development will allow you to use a DIMM baseboard as previously so you can develop you own baseboard hardware design alongside software. Hitex (UK) Ltd can also develop this for you if you wish.
