The sports world is buzzing after the shocking NBA trade that sent Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis and a few other key players. Just before the trade, Luka signed a contract to purchase a $3.5 million home for his family.

Can you imagine how he felt? He was making plans for his future when, without warning, his employer made a decision that completely changed his life, affecting his family and his future.

That’s life—things change, often beyond our control. And to some degree, this applies to all of us.

This past week, while consulting with individuals looking to leave their jobs and invest in a franchise, I found myself reflecting on the difference between being an employee and running my own business. Owning a business doesn’t guarantee instant financial freedom, a stress-free life, or automatic success. But it does mean I control my schedule, my decisions, where I live, how much I earn, and who I work with every day.

Even a millionaire athlete like Luka Doncic doesn’t have that kind of control.

If you’re curious about what the first step toward business ownership looks like, check out this link where I break down what to expect in that initial conversation. You’ll even find a link to my calendar where you can book a 15- or 30-minute call to explore your options.
