Is your care home's internet causing issues with running online Care Plans? LIV can help.

We work with numerous residential care homes across the UK, one of which being Jubliee Court Care Home in Coseley, part of the Select Healthcare Group .


They provide fantastic 24-hour personalised care, making the residents feel as at home and relaxed as possible. They also offer many extra facilities for both residents and their visitors, including free WiFi and the option to connect to a Smart TV with on-demand services such as Netflix or Amazon Video.


This is of course fantastic for the residents, but the downside is that it was severely affecting the speed of the internet within the home, which staff relied upon to manage the residents’ Care Plans. Staff trying to work simply couldn’t – the tablet-based Care Plan couldn’t be reliably accessed, and systems kept going down or taking far too long to load, despite having been upgraded only a couple of years ago.


Following a recent site survey, we were able to assess the problem and identify the requirements of all staff and residents, so upgraded their Wifi accordingly. This made a huge difference for everyone and improved the efficiency of all staff, enabling the new tablet-based Care Plan system to be fully rolled out throughout the home. Plus also enabled a much better on-demand TV service for residents too!

One of the Management team at Jubilee Court explains, “We had connection issues with our previous provider and as we were about to go live on our new electronic system it was apparent the previous package, we had was not sufficient.?We contacted LIV who arranged a date to come and speak to us and see our set up.?LIV came out as planned.?The engineer asked questions to ensure we got the service we needed.?The engineer was friendly and explained the issues to us.?LIV then told us what we needed a booked in a date to attend to rectify the problem.?When the 2 engineers come out on the day to upgrade our system, they were both so friendly.?They spoke to us in simple (none jargon) ways, so we were able to understand each step of the process.?One of the engineers appeared to be in training and the main engineer spoke to him with respect and explained to him what he was doing as well as us.?The main engineer went and checked all our devices were working before he left.?We were very pleased with the service.?The internet is much much better, and we can now connect 40+ devices.?
