What Is Your CTA?
How your audience reacts to your content is just as (if not more) important than the content you put out in the world. The best way to engage your audience is with something called, “A Call to Action.” (CTA)
A call to action, in marketing, is the part of your advertisement that tells your target audience what they should be doing once they click on your website or landing page. The simplest example of this would be, “Buy now!”
But you’re more sophisticated than that... In other words, what’s in it for them? Why should they spend their time reading or learning about who you are and what you have to offer? Figure that out and wrap your call to action around it.
Create a list of phrases that spark excitement and might make your consumer stop and click, call, or type.
Also, don’t be afraid to take advantage of FOMO (fear of missing out). By adding on language to your advertising that encourages rapid action, you’re provoking a small nudge of fear, which is great in the advertising/marketing world. One example, “50% off your first service. Sale ends in 48 hours.”
In my own experiences, I have failed to provide a call to action so many times and even was a little timid to say it also. It's important to focus on the approach and not the outcome because that's the one thing you can control. If you don't ask then you won't know. Be sure to practice and not be scared to fail because you can learn from those situations.
