Is your business ready for a second wave?
We have a wide range of business customers, using a broad selection of different technologies. When the Prime Minister first announced that the country was going into lockdown, many of our customers were simply not prepared. On the other hand, many were very prepared.
Some businesses have retained old-fashioned analogue technology, some have the soon-to-be-obsolete ISDN technology and others have all-singing, all-dancing High Definition VoIP technology.
So, what are the options for business continuity with your telecoms when we are in lockdown?
- For analogue and ISDN customers, many will just ask for calls to be diverted to a single mobile number. That's OK, if you are happy to risk missing calls and not being able to dial out from your company's landline number. We prefer to do things a bit more efficiently. Rather than divert calls to just one mobile number, we can set up and divert calls to a cloud-based hunt group or menu, which will then route incoming calls to any number of different mobile or landline numbers. This also provides the functionality of transferring inbound calls. Using this method, we can also provide call recording and missed call emails in the event of a caller hanging up without the call being answered. We can also provide real-time call data so you can see how many calls are coming in to your number. If you or your staff also need to make outbound calls from your company landline number, we can also supply you with a mobile app which enables you to do just that, from your smartphones - no additional hardware needed. You or your staff can then be making business calls from anywhere in the world where you have WiFi or 3G, 4G, 5G coverage.
- For HD VoIP customers, all this is already in place. However, having already done away with the old-fashioned technology and phone systems with a 'box on the wall', these customers don't need to have any hassle in ensuring things run smoothly, because it's already set up! For those who prefer to have a conventional desk phone, we supply a range of different brands, such as Cisco, Yealink, Polycom and Mitel. Not only are these handsets more efficient and have more functionality than old-fashioned phones, you can also unplug them from your office and plug them back in to your router at home - where they will work in just the same way they do at the office! Probably the most surprising thing about this technology is that it is actually cheaper than old-fashioned analogue or ISDN services. In fact, the entry-level Yealink T-21 is on offer at the moment for free on a 36-month contract.
