But here’s one thing about me, you’ll always get the truth.

If your pitch, strategy, or brand message is too complicated, I’ll tell you.

Because the fastest way to kill a great idea? Overcomplicate it.


If You Can’t Say It Simply, No One Will Remember It

I see it all the time.

A business owner, marketer, or executive tries to explain what they do… and five paragraphs later, I still have no clue what they’re actually selling.

They throw in industry jargon, long-winded explanations, and unnecessary details.

And by the time they’re done? They’ve lost their audience.

Here’s the truth ?? If you can’t explain your business in one sentence, you don’t have a messaging problem, you have a clarity problem.


The Best Brands Keep It Simple

? Apple → “The best personal computers.”

? Nike → “Inspiration and innovation for every athlete.”

? Slack → “Make work simpler, more pleasant, and more productive.”

Not a long-winded essay. No corporate buzzwords. Just clarity.

Because if a 10-year-old can’t understand what you do, your customers probably won’t either.

How to Simplify Your Message (Without Dumbing It Down)

If your brand message is too complicated, here’s how to fix it:

Start with the problem you solve.

  • What pain point does your product or service actually fix?
  • Example: “We help small businesses run stress-free payroll.”

Cut out the fluff.

  • No need for “disruptive solutions” or “synergistic approaches.” Just say what you do.
  • Example: Instead of “We leverage data-driven insights to optimize engagement,” say “We help brands get more customers through better marketing.”

Make it conversational.

  • If you wouldn’t say it in a normal conversation, don’t say it in your messaging.
  • Example: Imagine explaining your business to a friend over coffee. What would you say in one sentence?
