Is YOUR Business Growth Game Plan in Place?

Is YOUR Business Growth Game Plan in Place?

How was the first half of 2022 for you? For me, it went by at a break-neck pace, like lightning. And today, I am seven months smarter.

Now, that’s good news because I’m going to share with you the question that I have been asked more frequently than any other in the past 8 weeks… and the answer:

“How do I grow my business?”

?That’s the whole point of business, right? To grow it. For most of us, anyway. And that’s what the team at Hill & Co. has been doing during our decades-long careers. So why are assured business leaders asking this question now?

Because a series of game-changing events have happened in rapid succession:

  • The world stopped and the way we do business changed when COVID hit
  • The war on Ukraine shook the foundations all along our supply chains
  • Simultaneous to those challenges, the behavior of the end-consumer AND B2B buyers changed rapidly and irrevocably?

Almost everything that got us to where we are, no longer gets us to where we want to go.

The landscape has shifted beneath our feet. And the tools we need to traverse it are new, different and often digital. The very perspective from which we must analyze our business to craft a new growth strategy (just another word for ‘plan’) has changed.

I’ve just returned from over a month of non-stop travel that began at Couture & JCK in Las Vegas, on to New York City for meetings with my team and potential clients, up to Boston to attend Harvard Business School’s GIA Global Leadership course, to London for ESG partnership planning, and finally to the midlands of England for our Hill & Co. Management mid-year offsite strategy session.

During my trip, dozens of business leaders, CEOs and founders asked me for business strategy recommendations, given their new challenges, specific services/products, and their goals. Taking an objective look at your business’ assets and goals to plan where you should focus time, energy and talent is a challenge today, even for the most experienced leaders.

To make any recommendation at all, I had to ask for a lot of details about their business in order to give them a relevant, high-level answer. That’s because each business is like a fingerprint. Where you are starting from, where you want to go, and the tools you possess to get there, are entirely unique. Generalist responses have no value.

I know this because our team at Hill & Co. regularly assesses diamond, gemstone and jewelry businesses in detail, creates strategy, and delivers execution plans. It takes our team of deep industry experts weeks to consume business intelligence and develop the game plan. The result is bespoke business strategy, developed for your business strengths, weaknesses and goals, that will yield great, quantifiable results. We call this our Business Growth Game Plan (BGGP).

I returned from this trip and told my business partner that she was right (this happens a lot). She had been ‘reading’ the market and the behavioral changes when she predicted, back in Q3 of 2021, that our Business Growth Game Plan would become our most important service.

And yet, many of our colleagues in the industry, and clients from years past, do not know we offer this game-changing, affordable short-term service. Which is why I’m telling you about it today.

My team at Hill & Co. and I have been quietly executing this as a stand-alone service since 2021 and enjoying the updates of our BGGP clients’ successes. Now, it is rapidly becoming our most popular and perhaps most critical service.

When our team creates a custom Business Growth Game Plan for our clients, each of our team members take a dive into the part of your business in which they are a deep area-expert, from Operations to Merchandising, Digital Oversight to Organizational Planning. The result is a detailed analysis of the current state of your business and the recommended path forward to achieve growth and success.

We review all the facets of your business together as a team to create a coherent, comprehensive business growth strategy, replete with an execution plan, for the coming year.

The result is a Business Growth Game Plan for your business that includes:

  • Market & competitive analysis
  • Customer definition
  • Business plan & model
  • Brand identity
  • Merchandising architecture
  • Role- and skill-gaps, operations requirements
  • Digital infrastructure
  • Digital marketing strategy
  • Financial review and recommendations

With just 16 weeks until Christmas, we’re already creating plans for our clients to achieve a solid finish to 2022 and the best starting position for 2023. Do you have your Business Growth Game Plan in place? If not, let us help you rewrite the playbook on how you do business to ensure you have a long-lasting, unique position in the market, and a game plan to follow for success.

I encourage you to DM me, or email me at [email protected], to set up an exploratory call, no fee, no strings attached. It is the most powerful tip I can give you today.

And on that happy note,

Be well,
