Do Facebook ads really work? “Too many people have lost money using ads.” “Your Facebook page does not have enough engagement for you to use ads.” For the longest time I believe these lies; I spent hours working on Facebook making no money. These statements make people very skeptical of using Facebook ads. The truth is, if you are not using ads, you could be leaving money on the table. This statement is true for me. 

I am sharing my story because there are a lot of entrepreneurs; who want to learn how to make money on Facebook.  Facebook allows you to create and ad based on what they like, their interest and the Facebook user’s behavior. Facebook ads are easy to setup and you don’t need to hire an expensive Seller Agent. Facebook is the best platform for entrepreneurs on a budget. It is less expensive than Linkedin and Google Adsword. Facebook allows you to set the duration of the sales campaign. There is also a way to stop the campaign if it is not successful.  It is best to test your ad at $3.00 per day. I was easily able to determine the success of the ad within a day.  

A Facebook user does not need to have an impressive business page to be successful. For years, I worked to build up my credibility on Facebook. I lost money because I was afraid to test out Facebook Ads. My Facebook business page has an impressive following of 5,485 people with a reach of 1100 people.  Valuable content, engagement or a large following does build trust with an audience. However, engagement does not always equal sales. An Amazon seller, who is a friend, showed me how he was able to make money on Facebook without have an impressive business page. He was new to published ads on Facebook when I met him. The only way to learn something new is to test the waters.

My friend and I discovered for our Amazon business that Facebook Messenger Ads worked best for us. A buyer  would message us if he she is really interested in buying a product from us. A lot of entrepreneurs and businesses can benefit from messenger ads. A recent research shows that an average smartphone user checks their phone up to 150 times in a 24-hour span. It averages that checking your phone every7 minutes.  

There is money to be made on Facebook: “In a fourth quarter earnings report released last week, the social network boasted $5.84 billion in sales, and a record $1.56 billion in profits. There is a lot to gain and very little to lose if you use Facebook Ads conservatively. For as little as $3.00 per day you can test the success of your ad and stop it whenever you wish. There are some key steps to making your ad campaign successful: 

1.      Facebook Ad objective

·        How can you use an Ad to influence the long term outcome of your business?

As an Amazon seller my objective would be to get more reviews for my product.  I offer my product free in exchange for a product review. Buyers search Amazon for products to buy online. Products with more reviews get more views and are likely to earn sales on Amazon. Every Amazon seller wants their product to be on first page. Customer reviews help build credibility with their audience. The first thing a buyer on Amazon will see is the customer star rating and the picture of the product.  

2.      Optimize your image on Facebook. 

Your product or image should be eye-catching, bright and colorful.  There is also a lot of competition among advertisers on Facebook. Also messenger users are very busy and get easily distracted.

3. Create An Enticing Headline

A headline should only be 50 characters before it gets cut off and capped with an ellipsis. There is a way to view it on a Mobile device before you start paying for an Ad.

4. Call-To-Action

The nice thing about mobiles ads is that you can include a Call-To-Action. There are two call to action buttons Call Me or Message Me.
