Happy Friday (Feliz Viernes) from Barcelona!

I'm typing this from my hotel room before walking over to the final day of The District Show .

In it's 3rd edition (my 2nd in attendance) I have to say I'm impressed by the amount of forward thinking content and calibre of speakers. It was refreshing to hear real estate investors, fund & asset managers, and operators across the asset classes (especially office) embracing many of the topics we've explored over the seasons on my podcast - which made it a perfect fit for me to attend. I can't wait for today's agenda!

With standing room only for many sessions, it's clear to me that the future of real estate won't look like the past. The changemakers are no longer just in the crowd. We're on stage sharing how we are partnering with incumbents to evolve our industry.

ICYMI: My Day 1 & Day 2 recaps.

While the conference brings together a large contingent from the Spanish real estate market, make no mistake, this is a global event. Speakers and attendees come from all across EMEA and the Americas.

Big shout outs to Natasha Terinova , Mete Varas and James Dearsley who I had the pleasure of bumping into in the speaker's lounge. (We have to snap a pic next time Natasha!)

Posing with Meta Varas (Founder of ME Proptech Initiative)
Selfies with James Dearsly (CEO at Verv)

BIG THANK YOU to Josep Jorge , Andrea Ayestarán , Juan Velayos Lluis and the entire NEBEXT Next Business Exhibitions team for your support.

Stay tuned for the podcast recap!

Not just an office, a place to make friends

says Karen Tait

If we can work from anywhere, is the office of the future a place to socialise? Maybe the office of the future is coworking. Can coworking make money?

this post by Sarah Travers answers the question

When I left Regus in 2017, someone told me, “You’ll be back; there’s no money in coworking.” "open seating won’t generate revenue and operators should stick to the old-school model of selling private offices" At Workbar, we’ve proven that notion wrong. Read more from Sarah.
