From integrating with Shopify to offering trusted ratings and reviews, Buy with Prime provides a range of options for merchants to simplify and expand their businesses.
It has been slightly over a year since the introduction of Buy with Prime, one of Amazon's direct-to-consumer (DTC) solutions designed to assist merchants in growing their e-commerce ventures on their own websites. This solution leverages the trusted and convenient shopping benefits of Prime, providing members with quick and reliable access to everything they desire and need.
Since its launch, we have been delighted by the feedback from merchants, and it's exciting to witness both large and small businesses using Buy with Prime to address two significant challenges: acquiring new customers for their brand and converting those customers into loyal shoppers.
New customers, more sales
Acquiring customers can be a daunting task, but it is often the first hurdle for merchants looking to expand. This is where Buy with Prime comes into play. With the promise of fast, free delivery, a seamless checkout experience, and easy returns, we are pleased to report that Buy with Prime is effectively assisting merchants in acquiring new customers.
In fact, initial results indicate that, on average, three out of every four Buy with Prime orders come from new shoppers. Some merchants, like HydraLyte, a producer of electrolyte drinks, have gone even further, with nine out of every ten Buy with Prime orders coming from customers who are new to their brand.
Our latest feature, the Buy with Prime cart, is also showing early success with merchants. Previously, shoppers using Buy with Prime could only purchase a single product per order, similar to the 'Buy Now' button on Amazon. While Prime members appreciated this quick and convenient shopping experience, they also desired more options. We are excited to introduce cart functionality, allowing shoppers to purchase multiple Buy with Prime products in a single transaction.
This new feature not only increases sales for businesses, with merchants who adopted it experiencing a 15% increase in Buy with Prime units per order, but it also helps optimize fulfillment costs. Amazon can now fulfill multiple Buy with Prime products in a single shipment, streamlining operations.
These impressive results complement the average 25% increase in shopper conversion that Buy with Prime has been shown to deliver for businesses, meaning more customers place orders when Buy with Prime is available compared to when it is not.

The Buy with Prime product suite is expanding
Just as Amazon has consistently added value for Prime members over the past two decades, such as fast, free delivery and exclusive deals, we are taking a similar approach with Buy with Prime. Our goal is to help merchants maximize the benefits of Buy with Prime, and we are constantly introducing new features and tools to achieve this.
We understand that merchants often face challenges when launching their own DTC websites alongside their sales on Amazon. To address this, we introduced Reviews from Amazon, allowing merchants to showcase their Amazon reviews on their own sites at no extra cost. Early results indicate that merchants who added Reviews from Amazon to their site experienced a 38% increase in shopper conversion, on average. This integration allows merchants to harness the volume and authenticity of their Amazon reviews to generate more interest in their products and boost shopper confidence.
Buy with Prime is also assisting merchants in enhancing their post-purchase experience through Buy with Prime Assist. This feature enables merchants to offer 24/7 post-order customer service support through Amazon at no additional cost. Shoppers using Buy with Prime can now engage in real-time chat to ask questions related to shipping, delivery, or product returns, allowing merchants to allocate more time to other growth strategies.
Simplifying the operational burden for businesses
In addition to helping merchants acquire new customers, we are addressing the operational challenges they face in running their businesses. Our recent partnership with Shopify has made it easier to integrate Buy with Prime into Shopify stores, saving merchants time and resources.
The native integration with Shopify leverages a merchant's existing settings, customizations, and supported third-party app integrations, making it simpler for Shopify merchants to manage their businesses. This integration also offers the advantage of dual inventory use since Buy with Prime orders are fulfilled using Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). Whether an order originates from a merchant's website or Amazon, it is fulfilled using the same inventory pool within Amazon's logistics network. This not only reduces out-of-stock rates by an average of 13% but also speeds up delivery times by locating inventory closer to shoppers.
This is just the beginning of our journey with Buy with Prime. We are committed to providing merchants with new products, features, and integrations to help them attract new customers, convert more shoppers, and build brand loyalty.
