Is Your Brand Ready for an Immersive World?

Is Your Brand Ready for an Immersive World?

What an amazing couple weeks it has been in the XR world! Unless you were rafting down the Grand Canyon or hanging out on the moon during the past few days, then you have undoubtedly heard about Apple's newest product line--the Apple Vision Pro. This comes just one week after Meta announced their most powerful and accessible headset yet, the Quest 3.

With two of the largest consumer companies in the world coming out swinging over the past week, it's hard to not not stop and notice that a new wave is forming in the immersive technology industry.

Since 2016, Ocavu (formerly Seek) has been helping companies all around the world of every shape and size prepare for the times that we are currently in. There was a pretty big wave when Mark Zuckerberg came out and said he was devoting $10B/year to the metaverse. There were waves before that were smaller in size, but sizable enough to have felt them. The one we're in now will grow so fast that if you aren't already swimming out to catch it, you may miss one of the biggest opportunities in your lifetime.

You've probably read about the Apple Vision Pro, but if you haven't taken a moment to watch what it's all about, stop what you're doing and spend 10 minutes in this video?here . It is game-changing in every sense of the word. While the $3,500 price tag might seem steep right now, you better believe that every single early adopter on the planet will have one. Apple knows how to make things go mainstream.

This thing can replace multiple 4k monitors, massive TVs, entertainment devices of every kind, and so much more. It is a productivity and entertainment device rolled into a new type of computing and interface unlike nothing that's ever existed before.

Just like Apple made smart watches, smart phones, and smart streaming devices go global, they will do the same with this device. It will come down in price quickly as the technology improves and as the form factor gets down to something that everybody on the planet will want in their arsenal of technology.

So the real question is--are you ready for this wave??

Does your brand have 3D content created of every product that could conceivably be viewed on this and the other devices that are coming to market??

Is your website immersive-ready?

Do you have a system to manage all of your 3D content, cross-platform deployment, and monitor its effectiveness?

How are customers going to engage through immersive technology with your brand?

Do you have a plan?

I've been asking these questions for years, and it's game time.

The Ocavu team has been working, tirelessly preparing for this moment since Mike Snow , Chris White and I founded the company in 2016.

It is time.

At the very least, you need a plan. This is going to move VERY fast, and the line is going to get long if you're not already in it!

Tech to Scale Any Business

Yes, because the immersive world isn't ready for the immersive world. AR technology has to get about 100x less cumbersome before it will see enough adoption for any business to need to worry about AR market share. The issue has nothing to do with resolution, app quality, visual connection to the real world, etc. The issue has 100% to do with the fact that these devices, even the new Apple device, is wildly cumbersome and physically obtrusive. Case in point, most of the general population won't even wear a sunglasses walking around Disney World in August, where the UV rays are literally burning holes in your retinas. So until AR is less obtrusive than a pair of sunglasses, we won't even see 25% of the population use it at all, let alone regularly.

Building Better AI Stuff

Meta has tried to make it wide spread but their focus has been on household individuals to play games. The problem the better experience for gaming is on stronger hardware. It seems clear to me that apple has a focus on productivity (as well as entertainment in the form of big view viewing with their massive resolution which isn’t enjoyable on existing devices due to poor pixelation) With the focus on productivity the device will likely become a write off for any and all tech savvy execs who quickly realize the power and then push off additional sets to their team to realize that productivity increase across teams. People are always willing to spend money (much more money) on their businesses but when it comes to personal spending the checkbook for something like this is much tighter especially when it comes to experiences (Think spending 3500 on a Caribbean cruise Vs a virtual one) Apple knows what their doing. This will indeed blow up the value of 3D content per business. If you don’t have 3D content you are now officially behind the curve (especially in e-commerce.)
