Your Book as a Business

As a professional and author of five books (and featured in 8 others) I learned early on that it was important to integrate my books into my business rather than think of them as something separate. My books have allowed me to get my message out to a wider audience, and raise funds for charities and nonprofits that I care about. In addition to the obvious of getting books into libraries and bookstores, as a speaker there are many ways that I have integrated my books into my speaking business such as including them as part of my presentation resources, working with sponsors to purchase my books to donate to charities and non profit organizations (for their staff, volunteers, clients or for fundraising).

One of my businesses, Raise a Dream Training & Consulting Inc. has partnered with Women Speakers Association to deliver my Your Book as a Business Program. This collaboration has created a richer experience for participants, and, working in collaboration is just way more fun! Authors, check out our Your Book as a Business Program which starts March 1 https://raiseadream.com/your-book-as-a-business/ If you are an author and want to make your book a business, we sure hope you will join us.

PS If you are a non profit organization or charity.... I want to plant a little seed as a fundraising idea for you. Imagine if one of your board, staff, volunteers or clients was featured in a collaborative book such as Voices of the 21st Century (a collaborative book I am in published by WSA Publishing, launching Feb 23). Your organization could use these books which has the story of your staff/board/volunteer or client as a year round fundraiser, as part of your United Way campaign, sell at your fundraising events, provide as a gift to donors, have sponsors purchase them in bulk to provide to their employees or at their events (which raise funds for you). This is also a great way to build a legacy!

The collaborative book that we are releasing in Feb. 2021 is truly many heartfelt stories of real women who have overcome adversity and thrived. I am proud to be part of this incredible group of women. Thank you Charmaine for assisting us!
