Your Boldest Year Yet Starts Here

Your Boldest Year Yet Starts Here

Here we are, January—the fresh start, the blank slate, the chance to set the tone for an extraordinary year ahead. So let me ask you this:

If fear wasn’t holding you back, what would you do in 2025?

Would you finally write the book you’ve been dreaming about? Launch that business you’ve been secretly planning? Step onto a stage and deliver your first keynote?

Here’s the thing: The space between where you are and where you want to be is rarely about ability. It’s not about talent or timing. More often than not, it’s fear holding the reins.

The Brain Bully and Its Greatest Hits

You know that voice in your head, don’t you? The one that whispers things like:

  • What if I fail?
  • What if I’m not good enough?
  • What will people think?

That’s the brain bully, and it loves to keep you small. It magnifies doubt and convinces you that playing it safe is the only option. But here’s what I’ve learned—and what I teach my clients:

Fear isn’t fact. It’s just a feeling. And like any feeling, you can name it, face it, and move through it.

The Fearless Exercise

This year, I want you to take on fear with a clear plan. Here’s how:

  1. Name Your Dream What’s your boldest, most exciting goal for 2025? Write it down. Be specific. Don’t hold back.
  2. Name Your Fear List every single hesitation or worry standing in your way. The more you name your fears, the less power they hold.
  3. Flip the Script For each fear, ask yourself:

Nine times out of ten, you’ll find that your fears aren’t as scary as they seem—and the potential rewards far outweigh the risks.

A Bold Step Leads to Big Change

One of the most powerful transformations I’ve witnessed happened last year with a leader who struggled to claim their voice in meetings. They were always prepared, always had great ideas, but fear held them back. After working through this same exercise, they realized their hesitation wasn’t rooted in reality but in a fear of being judged. By taking small, intentional steps—speaking up once in every meeting, offering one clear idea—they began to see their confidence grow.

By the end of the year, they weren’t just contributing to conversations—they were leading them.

That’s what happens when you decide to stop letting fear win.

Why Boldness is the Game-Changer

Fear is a part of being human, but boldness? That’s where transformation lives. Boldness isn’t about pretending you’re fearless. It’s about feeling the fear, stepping into it, and taking action anyway.

In past newsletters, we’ve talked about:

  • The Power of Reflection: Looking back at what worked and what didn’t help you step forward with clarity.
  • Reframing Nerves: Fear and excitement come from the same place—it’s all about how you use that energy.
  • Authenticity Over Perfection: People don’t connect with flawlessness—they connect with realness.

This year is about taking those lessons and turning them into action.

Your Bold Year Starts Now

Here’s my challenge to you:

  1. Write Down Your Boldest Goal Think big. Think exciting. What’s the one thing you’d do if fear wasn’t in the picture?
  2. Name the Fear Get specific. What’s holding you back? Name it. Own it.
  3. Take One Step This Week Choose one bold action—no matter how small—that moves you closer to that goal. Progress doesn’t come from giant leaps; it’s built step by step.

Let’s Make 2025 Unstoppable

This is your year to dream big, to be bold, and to make it happen. Don’t let fear—or the brain bully—stand in your way.

I’d love to hear from you. Hit reply and share your #1 goal for 2025. Let’s make it bold, exciting, and something that lights you up.

Because this year isn’t about playing small. It’s about stepping into your greatness. ??

Tip of the Week: Resiliency starts with you ??
