Your best clients won’t respond to common marketing tactics

If you’re finding it difficult to attract high-level clients who are happy to pay for your four-figure program, the problem isn’t your expertise - it’s the way you’re marketing your services.

Most of us were taught marketing strategies that are not only outdated but actively repel the kind of clients we most want to work with.

We’ve been told to “give value” without any guidance on what that actually means, so we share lots of helpful tips and motivational posts that make you look like the Friendly Expert - the one everyone likes but no one buys from.

We’ve been taught to share vague promises like “I’ll help you live your best life” or “I’ll help you build a successful business.” But high-level clients need to know exactly what you mean.

Does “live your best life” mean working 20 hours a week so you can build a charity? Or does it mean working on your confidence to stop people pleasing so you can finally put yourself first?

If the promise of what you offer is unclear or not what your market wants, the exact dream clients you want to work with will scroll past.

We’ve been told to focus on agitating pain points, but empowered clients already know they’re in pain. They don’t need you to rub salt in their wounds - they need to see how your solution can help them achieve their goals when nothing else has.

And don’t even get me started on sending spammy cold DMs or hopping on 60-90 minute sales calls where you end up having to “handle objections.” High-level clients don’t respond to vague, copy-paste messages or pressure-filled conversations.

Empowered clients want clarity. They want to see how your method works, decide if it’s right for them, and know what kind of results they can expect and in what timeframe.

When you openly share your methods, speak directly to their goals, and focus on connection instead of convincing, they’ll come to you ready to buy.
