Your Beauty
Today's devotional is from Life is a Goldmine: Can You Dig It?
"She [Esther] pleased him and won his favor. Immediately he provided her with her beauty treatments and special food" - Esther 3:9.
Esther won the beauty contest so to speak by winning the king's favor. The king entrusted her to his aid who was assigned an interesting task: his job was to make Esther even more beautiful! There's a purpose lesson there for all of us, for God gave us our gifts and strengths and wants us to work to make them more effective and our strengths stronger, capable of touching more people.
In other words, God wants to make us more of who He already created us to be. Do you know what your strengths are? Are you embracing, ignoring, or belittling them? What are you doing to make your 'beauty' even more spectacular?
Lord, I don't want to hide my beauty, whether it's in music, art, business, or speech because it's really an expression of Your beauty and will for me life. First, I accept the fact You gave me my strengths and I accept that I have a responsibility to recognize and honor them. Then I commit to develop my beauty by taking lessons, reading, finding a coach, or doing anything necessary to make them sparkle and sizzle.
