Your Attitude Determines Your Contentment or...Not

Reframe Your Brain or suffer the consequences

It is amazing to me that so many people in this world believe that having a sour "I know everything" attitude is a constructive way to live life. If you are a business owner who has employees, and wonder why they spend more time on your computers playing video games, texting their lovers, and looking at internet porn - (yes, it is true, even 33% of women do this, check out the research on it), maybe your 'in your face' demeaning and negative attitude has something to do with it. Just a thought in case you were wondering...

My guess is that you are experiencing this because 80% of all US employees could care less about what the company that they are working at does. About 70% of employees despise what they do every day in your businesses - if you are an employer who has this negative attitude this explains what you are experiencing, in case you were wondering...

I have worked in so many different businesses, before I went onto self-employment, and it was because my bosses did not have a clue in how to help their employees A) give a shit about the business that they employers owned B) didn't have a clue in how to interact with a young newly graduated from college youth. C) had zero clue in how to help me understand what specifically they needed or wanted from me in a manner that was comprehensible. Because, this is the the blatant truth: Nobody wants to be demanded to do multiple things at the same time. It is your job as the employer to give your employees the order in which you want the various items on your to-do list completed. If you are smart, it will be based on increased revenue flow. However, this is not up to your employees to figure out for you, no... not really. This is your job. And, if you want it to be done timely, perhaps a 'please' and a 'thank you' would go far in making that happen, instead of having the expectation that your employee is going to feel motivated by being 'demerits.' Yes, it is true; right after my dad passed away when I was all of 23 years old, I returned to my job at the law firm that I was a mere receptionist at, to have one of the senior partners tell me every day that I had earned another 'demerit' for things that weren't even in my control. Then he wondered why I wasn't particularly feeling up to commuting to his lousy job.

Your employees are either going to make your business or break your business. These are the people who are interacting with your customers/client/patients. And, if you want them to be attractive to the prospects and others who are purchasing your offerings, best you figure out how to treat them with dignity, respect and thoughtfulness.

If you actually desire your employees to follow through with your directives, think about what they need in order to give a damn about you and your business. Because, until you do that, you are going to be spending an extraordinary amount of money in paying employees to give you 10% or less return on your investment in them. And, then when you fire them, you get to spend tens of thousands of dollars in time and energy training a new employee to do the job of the person you just fired.

How do you get your mind in the correct place to be attractive to productive employees who want to work for you? You would be best advised to take a good objective look at how you come across to others. If you are getting a bunch of sour or uninterested faces looking at you, it's a pretty good indicator of the type of business environment you are creating. Yes, it all begins and ends with you and your attitude.

At the moment every day at 2 pm eastern and additionally at 9 am on Saturdays and Sundays, I am teaching people who have kids in their lives how to better communicate with them. Because, kids have very different brain functions then adults with fully developed prefrontal cortexes. And, today with the quick pace of technology, instant gratification mentality, we the elders need to reframe our expectations, working with them in the manner in which they can shine. They are quick, inventive and optimistic and frankly could care less about the old worn out double standards of your average baby boomer. That is for the kids who are healthy in mind and spirit. For the others, they are being destroyed emotionally by we, the adults in their lives, or why would suicide be the 3rd largest reason for 10 to 24 years to commit suicide?

The medical profession is a mess - why? Because even though they have spent 11 plus years in school accruing an average of $250,000 in debt, they are treated worse then a disruptive teen by their teachers first, and then later by their medical industrial employers who can't understand that doctors got into doctoring because they were 'called' to the profession to help people heal. NOT to merely manage chronic conditions with medications that over time destroy the body. They didn't get into medicine to pass out drugs as if they were candy, nor to refer out to specialist who make a considerable larger salary then the more important general practitioners who coordinate the care of their patients. They did not get into medicine to work in a factory seeing 20-40 people a day, never allowed to take care of their own medical and emotional, or even daily biological needs. No, they did not. And, we are losing 400 of them every year to suicide given the outrageous pressures and undermining of the respect doctors of previous generations received.

I am on a mission this year: To save 100 kids from suicide and saving 75 doctors from suiciding themselves. And, it all starts with we the adults and employers taking responsibility for our attitudes, the foundation of how we "are" in the world.

Because, anyone who has become anything worth 'being' has had someone tell them the truth and then guide them to a much better place - like being your authentic, mesmerizing self - but, first you have to let go of all the masks, all the destructive defense mechanisms that are so deeply set in your UNconscious mind, that no amount of conscious talk therapy will be able to help you - not at all. However, for an hour of your time, you will learn how to get rid of a lot of this crap - FOR FREE, because we have to do something to turn the negativity of the workplace and the environments that our kids live in around or we are going to find we are going to many more funerals then we ever thought possible.

And, thus lighten up the world of all of those with whom you interact, maybe multiplying the income you bring in to make it all the sweeter. Better than that, for you who have kids, maybe getting your relationship on track with them, instead of dealing with the disconnected, uninterested, dismissive attitude they show you.
