Bob and Bill....I really do not know how to respond to such ignorance. It is amazing to me that after all the research and studies done by MDs and PHDs that you both still hold on to views that have been proven wrong. Not only that - your views would have athletes not work out their necks putting them at greater risk of being concussed. Perhaps you believe the world is flat?

Mike, There isn't a better sample than NFL athletes who have better neck strength. Yet they still sustain concussions. Bill Norwood is correct, the brain inside the skull is like an egg yolk, it will contra coup regardless of the helmet and neck strength capabilities of the athlete.

Continuing on: I am sure you agree that sports specific functional training is the best way to prepare athletes for the rigors of their chosen sport. The definition of sport specific functional training is 'exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed during athletic performance.' Functional training, if performed correctly, will lead to better joint mobility and stability, as well as more efficient motor patterns. Improving these factors can dramatically decrease the potential for an injury sustained during an athletic endeavor. Strength coaches, coaches of contact sports, parents of athletes participating in contact sports, and athletic trainers who help care for athletes involved in contact sports must do everything possible to protect the brains of the athletes under their care. The consequences of not doing so are unacceptable. The Iron Neck builds a strong neck “cylinder” safely and quickly using the natural rotational function of the neck muscle groupings which will dissipate the violent concussive forces athletes experience. I am glad Bill that neck strength can surely help the brain from whiplash conditions aren't you?
