What AI tools do you use, and what for? ??
I'm not an AI whiz by any means, but I first started using the ChatGPT free version to rewrite the back cover of my newest book, “BROKEN - How To Fix B2B Sales, Drive Profitable Growth & Win†in the first part of 2023. I just asked to make it sound more compelling, and bomb! Just add one or two new powerful words. ????
Then, I had it rewrite my Amazon book description, asking to make it more compelling and shorter. After a couple of tries, I thought to myself, "This looks like it was professionally written." I was so pleased and started my journey, many continuing to use ChatGPT, then a few other tools. ?????
At one of my companies, Network In Action International , I'm a franchise owner, and I run once-a-month professional networking groups. I have three groups. The founder, Scott Talley , suggested at the first of the year we have an agenda on some of the new AI tools to help our NIA members possibly adopt or expand how they are using these new AI tools to help the businesses run more efficiently. It was a big hit! And even some of the members that were apprehensive have since thanked me because they too have started using the tools, and they have helped them be more productive in their work and personal lives. ????
Since then, I have used ChatGPT every day to proofread my content. I always start in Microsoft Word, then cut and paste into AI tools. ChatGPT, the free version of Google Bard, and lastly, I use LinkedIn AI grammar and spell checker. ?? If you type a comment on LinkedIn, the AI spell and grammar check is better than most tools I have used, like Microsoft Editor or the free version of Grammarly. ??
When using ChatGPT to proofread my content, I like the improvements, but many times, I don't, so I drop my original content into a LinkedIn comment, and its AI tool usually picks up something I missed. ?? I use Google’s AI tool Bard as a backup, and it has one cool feature. Once you're completely done, you can look to the right corner, there’s a little speaker ??, and it will read back to you what you wrote! This is a game-changer, especially in long posts. It can catch things once you hear it out loud. Sometimes I will think to myself, “Wow, that part just doesn't sound right.â€
I also recently started using OpusClip and quso.ai . These AI tools help you chop up long-form videos into micro-content and Reels, with cool frames and sizing for each social media platform. They also add captions that run and have cool light effects to make them stand out. ?? I think both companies are startups (Lack support/websites not most reliable) but I wanted a low-cost way and both tools let you use them for free, limited, then the first level is still only like $19 per month or OpusClip offered me 1/2 off if I committed for a year.

Yesterday, I tried to put the same short eight-minute video I created on the new Zoom Clips into each. Vidyo.ai was the winner! ?? But just this morning, their whole website is down. Opus Clip's help and support are poor at best; I think the startup will continue to get better, but they both have to help me start to post some micro-content videos on LinkedIn. I have wanted to do this for a long time, but it was cost-prohibitive, and my lack of technical skills, but now it's possible with these new AI tools! ???
Another use case: I was in a busy workweek, and my Dell laptop was having problems again. A tech was going to have to come onsite, to my house/home office, to replace the fourth motherboard. ?? I used Microsoft's Word voice to write an email to Dell support management, with errors everywhere grammar needed to be addressed. ??? I cut and pasted it into ChatGPT and entered the prompt, “Proofread and write in a professional manner and concerned tone.†I sent the email, and Dell replied they agreed and would send me a replacement. Boom! ??
Another use case: I was going to use Fiverr to have my CRM robot updated from my first book and I thought to myself? "Couldn't I do it myself?" I used Microsoft Bing Image Creator and after six tries I got my robot but I couldn't get in to add the letters CRM on its chest. So, I had to use Canva, I’m a super beginner using Canva and it has AI tools too now, to add “CRM Powered By AIâ€.???
Another use case: I have a ‘long’ LinkedIn post I want to read, but I just don’t have the time. I really want to read it and maybe even support someone I know by leaving a thoughtful comment. I cut and paste it into ChatGPT or Bard, “Give me an overview of this LinkedIn post.†?? Boom! A concise overview to read and make a thoughtful comment! ?? ?? ??
My last use case: For a long post like this, I always run it through ChatGPT, and then LinkedIn AI grammar and spell check will catch a few more things to polish your writing. ? And, now, I tell it to add emojis too. ???? ?? ??
What are your favorite AI tools? Whether free or paid, what are your use cases, both private and professional? ??

1 å¹´Scott Marker I am a giant fan of AI, have been since I took a class in NLP back in the early 2000s in Oregon ?? ChatGPT has some advantages over Bard in that their product release cycle has historically been lightning fast; sometimes more than once a day. Bard's cycle doesn't seem to be as fast, but I wouldn't know because it's private and they don't announce as loudly. Google has been a lot more cautious, with their messaging clearly stating that the tech is "experimental" and "may make mistakes." I've also noticed that Bard *seems* to have less context available to it when generating text responses. It's just not quite as "on" as ChatGPT is so far. All that said, last week's OpenAI "situation" has yet to be fully understood, even by OpenAI and Microsoft. We are watching history happen in real time on this. I'm a fan of ChatGPT, Midjourney, and am working through the expansions in ChatGPT Turbo at the moment. I'm hoping we will see significant improvements from the new chips Altman's designing to be more compatible with AI processing. We can guess that they'll be for training or running specialized models, which means they can train models faster or cheaper or both. This is an inflection point, and I'm here for it.

1 å¹´Resized my CRM robot powered by AI for LinkedIn article image. LinkedIn is not user-friendly on images or banners. I used the AI tool Gemoo.com. I wanted to use this robot on this article's main image, but I couldn't make regular images work. So, I Googled free AI imaging tools to resize images for LinkedIn. Boom! ????????

1 å¹´I like the simplicity of Bard. ChatGPT can often times be too verbose in my request. It is definitely great for longer articles I want to write but when I put limitations on it is usually blows right base the word count. I am like LinkedIn isn't going to like that but it doesn't care. Ha. I'll check out the Grammer tool on LinkedIn though ! Thanks for the info!

1 å¹´Here is the new image of my updated CRM robot, now powered by AI I talked about in the article. I used Microsoft Bing Image Creator, then had to use Canva to at CRM Powered By AI. I think it's pretty cool and really captures my thoughts on using a CRM strategically to drive more business. ????????? ?? ??
