Your 4 techie treats are waiting…??

Isn’t it annoying when you spend an eternity trying to find a symbol on your keyboard, or a button to add a formula on an Excel spreadsheet, or a lifetime trying to make an image fit on Word. Then, out of nowhere, someone a little nerdier than you appears and points to what you need straightaway. Like it’s nothing. Like that little button you’ve been desperately looking for has been right in front of your peepers the whole time. Irritating, isn’t it?

Well, dearest Reader, it may not shock you to read that “nerd” I’m referring to was me a few weeks back. It all started when a client of mine was complaining about the limited number of characters on an iPhone keypad. Sure enough, they had no idea how to access the diacritical characters hiding behind standard letters, numbers and symbols. Easily missed, I suppose.

If at this point you’re wondering what ON EEEAARTH I’m talking about, give my video a watch. Or if you’re keeping up, here’s a little Halloween treat for you…

4 techie treats* hidden in your iPhone

Signing documents

Want an easier way to send signed documents? Simply screenshot the document, tap the screen to make edits, tap the plus button in the right lower corner, and select ‘signature’. Sign. Save. Send. Done. All in less than a minute.

Assigning vibrations

If you want to know who’s calling you without having to look at your phone, a unique vibration is the answer. To set up, head over to settings >> sounds & haptics >> ringtone >> set unique ringtone /vibration. Easy.

Closing tabs

Instead of clicking close on every individual tab you have open in Safari, simply hold down the ‘done’ button in the bottom right corner and select ‘close all 482 tabs’. Done.

Media timer

If, like me, you like drifting off listening to your favourite podcast (Discovery Trek: The Star Trek Universe Companion), simply go to clock >> timer >> select ‘when timer ends’ >> scroll to ‘stop playing’ button.

“That’s all great, Christian, but I’m just here for some IT support. Where do I sign up?”

Apologies. If you’re interested in learning more about our IT support services (or iPhone features) or want to speak with one of our technicians, call us today on 01903 25 99 23.

Until the next time (click, click).

*by 'treats', I mean 'features'.
