Your 3 Self-Sabotaging Issues That Keep You From Scaling Your Expert Business
I'm absolutely shocked about how many online coaching/consulting/agency business owners have been telling me about this recently - maybe you can resonate with it:
You love your business, you love working with your clients, you're relatively happy with how things are going. But...
You LIKE the idea of making more revenue, you LIKE the idea of reaching more people, helping more clients but SOMEHOW you're not expanding. Why is that? Now here's the kicker:
Because you're scared.
You're scared of letting go of hard work
Of course, I mean, hard work is what got you here in the first place. You're a hard worker, you have discipline and a high work ethic. You're proud of what you've achieved with your sheer will. The problem is though, what has gotten you here, won't get you there.
It ain't hard work that will help you acquire and deliver to more clients. It's smart work.
This may be unknown territory for you, since you've always been someone who just dug their hands in the dirt to start grinding whenever things had to be done. But at the end of the day you have to STOP evaluating yourself by the amount of work you're putting in and start evaluating by the amount of RESULTS you're producing. And for that it's smart work that is the answer.
You're scared of making your first hire
Hiring employees means extra responsibility, extra costs, extra pressure. So far it's been only you and that was fine. Involving another person is scary, yes, I get it. But remember when you decided to build your business in the first place? That was scary too! Yet you did it, because you had nothing to lose.
It's exactly that mindset you have somehow lost over the course of your business. Get that back. And if you really think about it, what's the worst thing that can happen? You can always fire that first employee again if things don't work out. Oh no, did I really just write that? Yes I did. That's the risk one has as an employee, but let's be honest: it rarely ever comes that far as long as you do things right.
If you want to grow with your business, there is NO. WAY. AROUND. hiring someone to help you. That's the truth, you cannot do this alone. There's thousands of people out there that DESERVE your help. Don't let them go to your less competent competition ;)
You're scared of doubling down on one strategy
...because you're suffering from shiny object syndrome. You're constantly fumbling around with new strategies that you heard about in some youtube video or some random "expert blog". You hop around between strategies instead of really doubling down on one.
The worst thing about this: it's good enough to get you to $10k-$20k a month, so you keep dabbling around between strategies... the truth is, however, you can absolutely make 7 figures a year by really doubling down on ONE strategy alone. Yep, you read that right.
REAL TALK: What it ultimately comes down to
You just have to stop being scared and start focussing on things that work. You ain't the first one going for the 7 figure mark... and you certainly won't be the last. Yes, it's possible, also in your niche. You're not a special little snowflake. Stop using your business as an extension of your own insecurities. It doesn't deserve that.
Emotions off, ego off, stop being scared. Time to treat your business as a business, not as a hobby.
When you're ready to scale your business in a meaningful way so you can increase your revenue, reach and help more clients, all while investing less time into it yourself, then go ahead and send me a message. I'll be happy to have a closer look.
PS: No, I don't use VAs, no it won't be an assistant replying with broken English. No, this is not a quick fix solution, just honest smart work that's been working for hundreds of expert businesses before.
