Your 2024 Guide To Kicking Unemployment's Ass

Your 2024 Guide To Kicking Unemployment's Ass

Many unemployed job seekers fool themselves by thinking they'll land a job soon after they get an interview.

Don't get me wrong, it's great to get interviews. But it's not enough to land a job.

You need to kick ass to beat unemployment quickly in 2024.

In 2024's highly competitive job market, employers compare you against many qualified candidates (today's employers expect 5-10 qualified candidates competing for every interview spot). Because 80M+ currently employed job seekers compete against you, being qualified doesn't make you special, it makes you average.

And average causes a slow, frustrating job search when you're unemployed.

But most job seekers today continue to use strategies designed towards candidate shortages, and are surprised when they fail during the opposite environment, when there are 9 times more candidates than advertised jobs.

Here's how to kick unemployment's ass when you face many competitors:

  1. Focus On Impact In Resumes And Interviews: Being qualified isn't good enough when there are many qualified candidates.
  2. Don't Settle For An Average Resume: Most career coaches, outplacement representatives and professional resume writers write the same basic resumes, because they were all taught the same basic rules when they were certified.
  3. Don't Apply For Jobs Online: When you get interviews by applying online, you're already too late to win the job ... so when you get interviews from online applications, they are the lowest quality interviews, with the lowest odds of getting an offer.
  4. Improve Your Networking Strategies: You've been taught to job search network by asking ineffective questions to the wrong people. These may get you low quality interviews, but the job search networking strategy you use also makes you too late to win jobs.
  5. Efficiently Scale Your Network: You need to reach more of the right people who are willing and able to help you.? LinkedIn and other sources haven't been effective to find the right people or start enough of the conversations to efficiently scale your network.
  6. Stop Doing The Same Things That Aren't Working, Hoping For Different Results: The definition of insanity.
  7. Do More Than Your Competition: Do more of what matters to employers (and they don't care how many resumes you send).

You'd already have kicked unemployment's ass if someone taught you how ... so why not let me?
