Your 2023 Job Search Acceleration Guide

Your 2023 Job Search Acceleration Guide

It shouldn't surprise you that job searching in 2023 has been very different than other years.

Because the 2023 job market is also very different and more confusing than other years:

  • 45% of currently employed workers are expected to change jobs, so 70M+ job seekers are competing for 10M jobs ... It's a job shortage when there are 7 job seekers for each advertised job (The numbers you see of 2 jobs per candidate only include unemployed job seekers).
  • Some companies have returned to office environments, others remain hybrid, while some still offer work from home positions.
  • Inflation, high interest rates, and recession on the horizon increases job market uncertainty.
  • Job shortages for experienced staff, management, and executive white-collar jobs make your search slower and more difficult.

All of these affect your job search in ways you've never seen during your career.

With all these changes in the air, different strategies are required to?accelerate?your 2023 job search. To help you navigate how to make your job search to go quickly, here's how to start:

  1. Everybody's Qualified:?Qualified looks average today. With so many candidates competing for jobs, employers expect 5-10 qualified candidates to compete for each interview spot (50-100 qualified candidates competing for 10 spots, plus all the unqualified ones). When so many other candidates are all qualified, you need to portray yourself as much better than qualified to stand out and accelerate your search.
  2. Change The Story:?When there were candidate shortages, you could get away with mistakes like describing your job responsibilities in your resume and interviews. But during job shortages, you need to change the way you think about your career, to change the story you tell employers - Focus on how you impacted the business, rather than your responsibilities.
  3. Show You Can Do More On The Job:?With many qualified choices, employers look for candidates who can improve their team/department/company ... people who can do more on the job. To show you can do more on the job than your competitors, you need to do more on your resume, interviews, and job search than others.

These are a sample of the initial changes you need to?accelerate?your job search in the 2023 job market. You would make all of these changes if you knew how, enabling you to make your search quickler by?overcoming high levels of competition. Rather than do the same things you've been doing, I'll teach you what you need to change so your job search will go much?faster.
