This 19-Point LinkedIn Profile Checklist is designed specifically for business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals eager to leverage LinkedIn for networking, branding, and generating new business opportunities.
Covering everything from optimizing your headline to showcasing industry-specific expertise, this checklist will help you maximize LinkedIn’s reach and boost your business’s visibility.
1.) Set up an exclusive Gmail Acc for all your email notifications from LinkedIn. (Helps you to stay organized)
2.) Define who your target audience or target market is.
3.) Research and identify your top 3 most preferred keywords using Wordtracker.
????? (Remember LinkedIn is also a Search Engine!)
4.) Upload your preferred or shortlisted profile picture to Photofeeler to have it voted on & gain valuable feedback.
5.) Design and build your ‘Header’ image using Canva, Snappa, Bannersnack or similar.
6.) Test and improve your LinkedIn Profile headline using ?Sharethrough. (Try to include a Key Benefit Statement aimed towards your target audience)
7.) Start your About section with either an attention-grabbing headline, or just tell people exactly what you do!
8.) Check how well the 1st line of your ‘About’ section displays on a Mobile or Cell device.
9.) Write a draft of your ‘About’ section (Upto 2,600 characters) include your top 3 preferred keywords.???????????????
????? Begin your About Section by identifying, or asking about the pain points of your audience.
????? (Your business, products or services are the solution to those pain points)
????? What do you do or offer, what problems do you solve, what value do you add?
????? Add bullet points of what you offer, areas you specialize in, passionate about etc.
????? Add Social Proof such as Case Studies, Recommendations / Testimonials etc.
????? Finish your About section with a Call to Action, Contact details incl your website, email, phone number etc.
10.) Add a Featured section. Include Social Proof, links to your website, calendar, YouTube channel etc, add links to successful posts, media (Videos, Certificates, PDFs, Images etc).
Or to use your Featured section as a step in your sales funnel, add 1 – 2 images with links through to your Landing Page etc. ?
11.)? Your Experience section is written from the positioning of your business.
12.)? Test your Experience section headline using Sharethrough (Try to include your top 3 keywords).
13.)? Write a draft of your ‘Experience’ section including your main 3 keywords. (Upto 2,000 characters)
???????? Include: Start your Experience section with an attention grabbing headline.
???????? What do you do or offer, what problems do you solve, what value do you add?
???????? Add bullet points of what you offer, areas you specialize in, passionate about etc.
???????? Add social proof such as accomplishments, recommendations etc
???????? Finish your Experience section with a Call to Action, Contact details incl your website, email, phone number etc
14.)? Add media (Videos, Certificates, Pdf’s, Images etc) to the lower area of your Experience section.
15.)? Set up your custom URL. (Try to use either your name or 1 of your top 3 preferred keywords).
16.)? Complete your Contact Details, incl, D.O.B. Website & or Social Media X 3, Email, Phone No etc.
17.)? Add your Skills, your top 3 skills should be your top 3 keywords.
18.)? Complete your education section, include qualifications etc.
19.)? Accomplishments including Publications, Honours, Courses, Projects, Certifications etc.?????????
