Young Veteran Resources
As many of you may know, I sit on the board of a local non-profit that serves local veterans called Corpoint, LLC. We help veterans integrate back into civilian life after service. We mentor our vets on education after service among other things. We are able to make this possible through the generous donations from around the country as well as those that see value in volunteering to help our vets. There is never a fee to the veterans we serve.
We recognize that some of our vets don't feel that the local VA or American Legion really resonates with their generation. We understand that many of the younger veterans coming out still want to be engaged in meaningful ways in and around their communities here in North Carolina. We wanted to provide another resource to fill that need and in doing so, we have created a Facebook group that we hope will act as a central place for vets to support each other, share ideas and resources for education, employment, volunteering and so forth. We encourage our vets to become a part of this group and make the most of it.
If you or someone you know may benefit from the services Corpoint has to offer or would like volunteer with us, by all means feel free to reach out. As always, we appreciate your donations as EVERY dollar counts. We encourage you to visit our website at www.corpoint.org. Many thanks to those that have helped us make this possible for our veterans here in Western North Carolina.
With gratitude,
Donna Strater
