Katoni’s Role in Developing the Young Workforce of Today

?

Katoni are thrilled to share how we are actively involved in recruiting and engaging with young talent. We recognise the importance of nurturing and supporting the next generation, both in terms of fostering their talents and contributing to their educational and career development. Through a variety of initiatives and partnerships, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for young individuals to thrive and succeed. Here is an overview of our efforts:

?

STEM Ambassador Program:

At Katoni, we understand the significance of promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. Several members of our staff, including some existing STEM ambassadors, have enthusiastically volunteered to inspire and engage young minds in STEM-related activities. By sharing their knowledge and experiences, our ambassadors play a vital role in nurturing a passion for STEM among students and encouraging them to pursue a career in STEM.

?

Collaborating with Local Primary Schools:

We are excited to share our plans to partner up with a local primary school, where we aim to provide valuable support and assistance. Through this collaboration, we are committed to helping the school in any way we can, whether it's offering resources, mentoring students, or organising engaging educational activities. Building this network fosters a sense of community and encourages young people to explore diverse career paths.

?

Engagement in Pre-existing STEM Activities:

In addition to our STEM Ambassador Program, several members of our team have already signed up for pre-existing STEM activities. By participating in these initiatives, we actively contribute to the broader STEM community and inspire young individuals to pursue their interests in the STEM industry.

?

Career Ready Mentorship:

Katoni is proud to participate in the Career Ready program, offering 18 months of mentorship and a 4-week summer placement to deserving young talents. We are excited to welcome two mentees to Katoni in the coming months, who will receive guidance and support from two of our talented team members, Keith Steele and Mark Reynolds. This mentorship program aims to provide valuable insights, develop key skills, and nurture the mentees' career aspirations.

?

Student Placements and Internships:

Recognising the value of practical work experience, Katoni actively offers student placements and internships to provide young individuals with real-world exposure in their respective fields. These opportunities enable students to apply their theoretical knowledge, gain practical skills, and make valuable industry connections.

?

Streamlined Onboarding Experience:

We are continuously striving to enhance the onboarding experience for new hires, including young professionals. Our goal is to make their transition into the family as seamless as possible. By implementing streamlined processes, personalised support, and mentorship, we ensure that young talent feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas.

?

Involvement in Developing Young Workforce (DYW):

Our CEO, James Bream, is deeply committed to Developing Young Workforce (DYW), a vital initiative focused on bridging the gap between education and the world of work. By actively participating in this program, James contributes valuable insights, expertise, and guidance to shape educational policies and empower young individuals with the necessary skills for future success.

?

At Katoni, we strongly believe in investing in young talent and cultivating a supportive environment for their growth. Through our STEM Ambassador Program, partnerships with local schools, involvement in existing STEM activities, mentorship programs, student placements, and streamlined onboarding processes, we aim to provide young individuals with the resources and opportunities they need to flourish.
