Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav (Retd.) PVC is one of India’s greatest war heroes, known for his unmatched bravery during the Kargil War in 1999. At just 19 years old, he played a crucial role in recapturing Tiger Hill, a mission that seemed nearly impossible due to the harsh terrain and heavily armed enemy forces. His unwavering courage and selfless leadership earned him the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), India’s highest military honor.

I enjoy to share about the incredible bravery of Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav (Retd.) PVC, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who led the charge to capture Tiger Hill during the Kargil War. His story is a testament to courage, sacrifice, and the unwavering spirit of a soldier.

During the assault on Tiger Hill, Yadav was part of the Ghatak Platoon of the 18 Grenadiers regiment. Scaling a near-vertical cliff at 16,500 feet, he and his team faced intense enemy fire. Despite being hit by multiple bullets, he continued climbing, leading the charge to destroy enemy bunkers. His heroic actions turned the tide of battle, paving the way for India's victory in one of the most significant battles of the Kargil War.

Even after sustaining 12 bullet wounds, Yadav refused to back down. He fought through immense pain, single-handedly eliminating enemy positions and motivating his fellow soldiers to push forward. His resilience and determination showcased the true spirit of the Indian Army, proving that a soldier’s courage knows no limits when it comes to protecting the nation.

Today, Captain Yadav remains a living legend, inspiring millions with his story of bravery and sacrifice.
