The young entrepreneur and his team push the limits of neuroscience.

The brain is still a mysterious field in the medical world that offers exciting opportunity for researchers. Great things are happening in Cleveland, one of the major cities for medical sciences. I would like to introduce Mohammed and his initiative. He is on the way to success with a hardworking team and qualified mentors.

How did you decide to become a healthcare entrepreneur?

I have always been very interested in neuroscience and neurotechnology and I have been reading about the subjects since a young. At first, I wanted to get into closed-loop deep brain stimulation, however, I started to learn about transcranial magnetic and current stimulation and I decided to read more about noninvasive brain stimulation instead of surgical. I created this company while also using our transcranial current stimulation on myself for my personal mental health. I am happy where the devices got my state of mind and I am passionate about having these devices all over the world!

How did the idea of ‘’U: The Mind Company” come about?

One day I was at chipotle eating a burrito when I looked up at a vent on the wall. It had an X-Y grid and I imagined that vent curved and wrapped around someones head. I then imagined running dynamical current through that vent to create complex electric fields inside the brain. I realized that this would be a good idea and I started researching the idea of created complex electric field shapes inside the brain. 4 years later, we have built devices and running trials in Alzheimer’s Disease.

What problems do you focus more on?

I focus more on the “non-googlable” problems. Meaning, if this is a problem or answer I can google, I won’t think about it. I would rather focus on problems that don’t have solutions. This allows me to create insights and blend new fields of knowledge together not done before.

This is actually a field that demands good team play, and obviously; you are in dialogue with good mentors. How did you design such an organization as a founder?

I organized the U team through LinkedIn networking; in fact, after the pandemic, the network at U started to grow really fast as everyone was online all day. I make sure to respect my mentors in the field and I am so happy that they see the energy our company is putting out! As a founder and CEO, my goal is to work with people, see their needs, and guide them to a higher version of themselves.

It seems that the fields related to neurology will become more and more popular in the coming years, what kind of ecosystem will we see soon?

I see an ecosystem where companies act as teammates rather than competitors. Medicine is a complex world and every type of help we can get is very important! What I expect to see is more open-source work and companies focusing on clinical impact rather than profits.

What is the ideal investor profile for your company? And how can they reach you?

We are looking for investors looking to make a creative impact in the medical field! They can reach me through LinkedIn or my email [email protected].

It was an honor to work with you!!! Thank you for this well constructed post!
