You’ll never succeed working for yourself! Or will you?

Allow me to introduce or re-introduce myself. My name is Pamela Hilliard Owens, and I have been a creative solopreneur since 2008. My first career was as an educator of all grades from Pre-K through the university level, and my second career was as a corporate and direct sales leader. I put those two careers together for my third career as an entrepreneur.

This is the 1st of 5 informational newsletters about the August launch of the Global Creative Community Branding and Marketing Academy Membership.

I am also a copywriter, an editor, a published author, an independent book publisher, a podcaster, and a business coach. I bring my decades of expertise and experience to the company I have designed just for you, the independent author and creative or solo professional.

Let me also introduce the Global Creative Community Branding and Marketing Academy Heartbeat Membership. It is the “best of” my previous three companies and focuses on networking, group coaching, and branding and marketing training. This is an announcement of the next launch of my program.

When I started my solopreneur journey in 2008, all I knew was that I never wanted to work for anyone else ever again. I wanted to be self-employed for a couple of decades before, but I was always discouraged against going out on my own and was told that I needed to have a “real job” to be financially responsible.

For an entire month before I opened my doors, I sat in front of my computer, did tons of research, and taught myself how to go into business. At least I knew that being a writer and having a writing business were two different things.

I wasn’t completely lost. I had several role models and contacts who helped me along the way. Online and real-life networking really helped me.

I had many “wins” and just as many “losses.”

But I achieved my goal of being completely self-employed, and I am now in my 15th year of entrepreneurship when few businesses last even five years.

That’s why the best and most fun things I do now are to help independent authors and creative and solo professionals achieve their business, branding, and marketing goals.

Tomorrow, I’ll show you how I do that.

Bu? first, a question: what is your story about becoming a creative or solo professional? How did you find the help you needed? Have you found all of the help you think you need?

Reply or comment and let me know.

Thanks,

Pam
