You'll be Heard & Recognized if You Do This...

You can assert your?experience?and leadership in generalities to make a point, but it doesn't quite work unless you are addressing the real challenges faced by company hiring managers.

You know that you're good at what you do but until you articulate how it's going to specifically impact the company or a new role, then it's going to be difficult to create a pipeline of opportunities.

How to GET UNSTUCK:?

Start discussions around results & impact of your work and you'll see your career trajectory take off.

?You're adding value to your job, company and career when you?

  • Add Revenue Opportunities
  • Reduce Expenses
  • Make People and Processes More Productive

But how do you make those points so they resonate with the listener during---a performance evaluation, an interview, a partner or customer conversation, or a negotiation?

The answer is that it must solve their problem or challenge.?No matter how experienced or accomplished you are, they usually won't convert your expertise to being an answer to their challenges unless you spell it out.?

That means you have to stop describing tasks, responsibilities and activities and start discussing your process that has solved similar problems and challenges and let them know the impacts you've made as a result.

Got a story you can tell around that??It goes in your resume, but most importantly, it becomes your value-based mindset and your story in conversations, interviews and negotiations...and everyone in your network.

?People and companies buy your value, not your activity.

Present your impact---revenue or cost savings from your work, and?you become a great investment for a company.

YOUR OUTCOMES CAN BE QUANTITATIVE WHEN PRESENTING THEM IN DOLLARS OR PERCENTAGES?

?Example: “As a result of this product launch, we?

increased customer membership and revenue by 15% in 90 days.”?

YOUR OUTCOMES CAN BE QUALITATIVE WHEN YOU DESCRIBE THE IMPACT OF YOUR WORK?

Provide qualitative examples of positive outcomes resulting from your efforts if you don’t have or don’t want to use numbers or percentages. Example: “This product launch increased membership improved customer success, and drove revenues of within 90 days.”
