You'll find your way

You'll find your way

I've been an admirer of both sunrise and sunset. And, the main reason being - it has taught me to embrace the now, no matter what and keep moving forward.

I still remember those days when I sat back on my sofa near my window and watched how the sun set. It was an amazing view, but back then, we didn't have the privilege to click pictures and keep those moments alive.

Well, those moments are alive in my memory, even now. I always felt that why do we have nights when the days are so beautiful? Until one day when I came across moments, people, and experiences that made me find the light in the night.

I may not be the one to express a lot, but I've been fortunate enough to meet people who made me see the beauty in the unknown, the strength in the difficult, and the words of empowerment to believe in myself more than I do already. And this made me realise that our lives are similar to sunrises and sunsets - nothing lasts forever, so we might as well make the most of what we have in the moment.

I found my way to understanding myself better. Here's how and what I learnt:

  1. The lost phase made me find myself again: I was never one for embracing the now. But with time, I've come to understand that the now is all we have. And this, made me find myself again in the unknown.
  2. Learn, unlearn, relearn: It's about taking some of it with you, dropping some things along the way, but smiling through every step you took or will be taking in life. You grow as you go through this.
  3. Talk to yourself more often: We often believe what others say as the final thing. The good thing is what we say to ourselves, 24/7/365 is what actually matters. Make that self-talk a good one.
  4. The light and dark is the thing: We cannot not want to have the dark - it's during these times that we realise how much strength we have within ourselves.

In my experience, don't ever try to skip phases in your life. Yes, there are some that feel almost impossible to get over, but that's the thing - we don't know how strong we actually are until we realise that strength is the real thing.

If nothing, remember this - the sun burns so that it can spread the light. Aim to be the light. The feeling is different.
