You'll buy the ticket. You'll take the ride.

Something fun to do while you're cooped up inside? PLAN YOUR NEXT VACATION! Pick a destination or two. Start looking up the hotels there - gorgeous sprawling resorts, metropolitan high-rises - and budget-friendly smaller properties that start you off with a free breakfast every morning! Get excited for the local restaurants - from fine dining to the perfect donut shop. What's the local food specialty - deep dish pizza, jambalaya, BBQ, key lime pie, or Philly cheese steaks, anyone? Scope out reviews of the bars and nightlife - from chic and classy to the coolest karaoke dive bars. Look up the major museums, and the cool niche ones none of your friends have heard of. Picture yourself strolling in the parks - whether it's a theme park or a city, state, or national park. Are there any inspiring historic sites to visit where you're going? There's probably a spot or two to rent a fun way to get around - from Segways, to wave runners, to mopeds. Ooh, is there a cruise port nearby? Oh heck, go ahead and make a list of the prettiest walls to take Instagram selfies in front of.

Get your kids involved in planning. Ask what they'd most like to see and do on a vacation - they may surprise you! Tell a story about a memorable vacation from your childhood. (And if you talk budgets, you can sneak some math in on them without them even noticing.)

Envision your vacation in terms of when you get to go, not if. Because you will! We're facing hardships at much different levels right now - maybe you're in healthcare and working insane hours (heartfelt thanks, healthcare workers) or maybe you've been laid off and aren't working any hours at all right now. Maybe your job transitioned to remote work pretty easily, but your house is starting to feel a lot smaller with everyone home all of the time. We can all use something to look forward to.

You will take that vacation - and your friends in the hospitality industry will be more grateful than ever to welcome you.

So where are you headed?
