Youi partners with Generation Innovation as Platinum Sponsor, supporting young Sunny Coast entrepreneurs

Sunshine Coast insurance provider, Youi , has announced a multi-year Platinum Partnership with not-for-profit organisation Generation Innovation (GI), in a bid to support the local community’s next generation of entrepreneurs.

Generation Innovation’s annual GI Challenge is an independently run entrepreneurship program, giving young innovators between the ages of 15 to 21 from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, a shot at making their dream business a reality.

Youi will extend on their existing six-year partnership with GI, doubling their current financial commitment to $20,000 per year for the next three years – a $60,000 investment into local talent.

Youi Chief of People and Reputation Russell Redsell said there is a natural alignment with Generation Innovation’s goals and what Youi is already doing in the local community.

“We really admire the work GI are doing in the community in fostering pathways for the next generation and we are thrilled to be part of the program,” Mr Redsell said.

“This partnership will see us host regular mentorship activities such as intensive workshops and guest speaker sessions for young innovators at our Youi HQ in Sippy Downs.

Generation Innovation’s Director Emma Greenhatch said Youi’s support will have a significant impact on the young people involved in the program, the broader community and potentially the world.

“Generation Innovation is all about helping young people to recognise at an early age that they too can turn their ideas into viable businesses,” Ms Greenhatch said.

“Our program is that much more impactful because of Youi’s involvement and contribution, which includes mentoring, judging and hosting our events,” she said.

Youi’s increased investment has enabled a doubling of the winner’s prize package to $10k cash, along with new program elements. This is particularly significant in 2024 with Generation Innovation celebrating its 10th GI Challenge.

The program commences with a special launch event hosted by Youi on 15 July and culminates in the Pitch Night on 2 October, where one lucky young entrepreneur will have the opportunity to turn their dream into reality.
