Homies Letter #8

I wrote this letter for you my dear Homie.

How are you today?

During my break in 2024

I had a reflection and I remembered

?? How I crowdfunded a business in 2020 and it failed

??How I paid the debt for over 1 year and went so broke

?? How I started a fashion business even though I was very shy to sell.

?? How I rejected an investment running into the equivalent of 3M now.

?? How the business failed again! ??

??How I picked up myself, saved up and started another business in 2022

?? How I carried clothes on my head under the sun, looking for customers and sales.

?? How life choked me, couldn’t get steady customer and the business failed again??

??How I encouraged myself, got skilled and suffered scarcity again because no one asked for my skills.

Even if you don’t tell me

I know I am tenacious and I am strong.

Here is what concerns you…I did all of these in my 20s,?

??I had big dreams

??I needed more money

??I wanted to become a millionaire

??I was eager for breakthrough and success

??I wanted to start investing into assets early

??I wanted to spoil my parents and loved ones

??I wanted to enjoy clothes, shoes and bags when I could still do that.?

But most of these desires were dashed because my businesses kept failing predominantly for lack of clients/customers or maybe because I didn’t know how to get them.

Most of us are at our primes and we have great dreams and desires? in our 20s and 30s.

Of course it’s a great time to start doing great things.

30 under 30 in Forbes

Very valid dreams!

But they’ll only happen if you don’t give up!

Once you throw in the towel, you shut the door at opportunities that could even be 5meters away from you.

Normalize failure, you’re not caused when you experience it.?

It’s just one of the things you must experience on your way to success

?Steve Jobs failed

?Henry Ford failed

?Walt Disney failed

?Steve Harcey failed

?Albert Einstein failed

?Thomas Edison failed

Name them.?

Anyone you know that has attained success in life today failed.?

Don’t go into hiding sucking because you’ve failed

Don’t brood for long? thinking, what would people say now that I failed.

Pick up yourself, pick up the lessons, make a lemonade from the lemon and let’s go build something great.

Let’s go fulfill our dreams.
Let’s go thrive homies.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

The actual definition of failure is to stop because you tried and it didn't work. You will fail, but what happens after that is what determines the true course of one's life Oluwapelumi Akintoye ? ??

??I picked the lessons, I had to learn client acquisition and sales. I kept learning until I became good at it and it was not until then that business became steady. See what keeps making you trip and fall and then take it out of the way. You’ll be well on your way to success.
