If you’re building an audience or a brand, and you wouldn’t spend 15 seconds with the content….
Then what’re you doing?
Seriously, there are so many pictures, videos, memes, and ruckus on the internet.
If you’re just posting for the sake of “checking off the box” - You. Are. Wasting. Your. Time.
Sorry.
Branding Going Nowhere
I quickly learned this while starting up Run Philosophy . If you were to check our Instagram, you would find some pretty good content. (Thanks Zach!)
But, you’d also see some random Canva mockups (Shoutout Me!) that were posted to get that “twice a week post”. I didn’t think it looked great, so not sure why I expected someone else to think differently.
When starting a new ecommerce company, especially when it’s in a saturated space - you MUST stand out. The typical average creative won’t go anywhere.
I learned this in a hurry… thankfully.
And still figuring out the best way to gain a following and build a brand.

Building In Today’s World
I believe that the days of simply dumping ad money into a product to convert are over. With brands I work with at Luminous and starting my own, I’m realizing more and more that content is king. Building a community and following around a brand works wonders.
One of the best ways to get there is posting relatable content that people are drawn to.
Example - I recently ran a campaign on TikTok. For every follow, I would run 0.01 miles.
This was mostly for testing purposes and wasn’t very high quality.
But, it led to views and follows. Surprising, I know.
Heading forward - I hope to have some eye catching content that results in community building. And hopefully the beginnings of a worthwhile brand.
Why Do I Care?
I love seeing entrepreneurs succeed and hope I can find some of that as well.
With advertising costs rising exponentially, brands need to be strategic in their content.
