Are you working on it?
You got it?
I have had many teachers. One of them taught me how to respond when I want to continue learning from him. More importantly though, he taught me how not to respond. If you have any interest in continuous improvement, growth, and learning in anything that requires regular practice, then when the teacher asks, “You got it?” you should never respond with, “I’ve got it!”; not if you want to continue learning or receiving assistance from that teacher, coach, or mentor.
Instead, you should say, “I’m working on it!”
- What are you doing to work on your leadership?
- What are you doing to work on your relationships?
- What are you doing to work on you purpose?
If you have an interest in learning more about how I or Coach in a Box can help you with your talent and leadership development agenda by helping individual contributors step up to leading people, how to get people managers to lead leaders, and how to get middle managers to lead organizations, please reach out to me [email protected]. I look forward to connecting with you.
