Guess what...
This headline was written by an AI Chatbot called ChatGPT.
After 2 weeks of a digital detox (the equivalent of living under a rock), I came back from a holiday to see the online world ablaze with stories about ChatGPT...
Having played with a number of AI Copywriting tools in recent years, I decided to put it to the test and request the Chatbot to come up with some clickbait headlines for me...
And here's another one...
And another...
Pretty smart...
Although not something I'd ever personally write or use.
But what is Chat GPT?
Well, why don't we ask the hottest tool on the internet to explain him/her/itself:
And according to the Daily Mail, in their classic clickbait style of headline writing, it's going to steal everyone's jobs...
And especially mine as I'm a marketer!

But here are 3 reasons why I'm not worried yet about losing my job to Chat GPT just yet...
1) It removes any personalised opinions
For instance, in its current guise, there's no way I could write this LinkedIn Article using Chat GPT because it's a subjective opinion on my experience with AI Chatbots and copywriting tools to date.
If I was a golf club looking to write a blog post about the winter drainage work we're undertaking this winter or a manufacturer launching our latest release, I wouldn't be trusting Chat GPT to write the whole article.
However, as a marketer, if I'm looking to find out the benefits of winter drainage on a golf course or how to forge a golf club head, Chat GPT could be one of the first places I'd look in the future.
2) Someone still needs to execute
Which leads us nicely to execution.
In this Tweet, Zain Kahn discussed how he uses Chat GPT to write an SEO-optimised blog post (it's well worth a read if you have time, and thanks for sharing Jack Bamford )
So whilst you can use AI to help you in your various marketing efforts, you still need to have a fundamental understanding and skillset to be able to execute in order to reap the benefits.
3) It will save me time
Lastly, I'll be using Chat GPT to save me time and make me a better marketer. Whether it's using it as a research tool to dive deep into a subject, writing a fact-based section of a blog post, or searching for trends.
But one thing I know for sure is that is a mind-boggling powerful tool with insane possibilities of where next to go with it.

1 年I was chatting with my partner’s son about it yesterday and he said he’d put his essay question into Chat GPT and it had written his essay for him. I’m really keen to use it and to see where it goes James. Also I just read on Twitter one guy has created a Slack channel for his global team and connected Chat GPT via Zapier so they have easy access to using it. It seems the possibilities could be endless and I’ve also thought of how I can use it for my training.
