You may often hear talk about gut health and healing your gut. Gut health is such an important topic because your gut is basically the lining of your digestive tract.
Every single day, you shed this lining. The lining is replaced by a new one, which is created using the food you are eating. This is where "you are what you eat" comes in. Your digestive tract is literally made up using the foods you are eating.
As you can see, it's extremely important to give your body foods with probiotics, prebiotics, and omegas to help fertilize the lining of your digestive tract. Without the proper nutrients, your gut will become unhealthy and cause a long list of issues that will affect you mentally and physically.
In fact, 70% of your serotonin (the happy chemical) is made in your gut. If you are not providing your gut with the foods it needs to thrive, it will affect your mood, anxiety, depression, and focus.
Overall, yes, you are what you eat, and your gut health is incredibly important to feel good in your body and mind.
Remember: food is meant to be fuel. It should make your tummy feel good, and your head feel clear. If it doesn't, it's time to make a change.
Did you know how deeply our gut can affect our bodies and minds?
