YOU ARE NOT WEALTHY UNTIL YOU HAVE SOMETHING MONEY CAN'T BUY

Thirty five years ago on my 35th birthday, American Express saved the day after I was hauled off to the Vine Street Police Station for "trespassing" at my hotel. The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane is a luxury 5-star hotel.

The snooty hotel did not like my lunch guests for my birthday - the punks with pink hair and tattoos standing up for what they believed in. They looked nice, mind you. I bought all of them new coats. Giving is the highest expression of our power and I love giving gifts for my birthday. I love it any time although that was decades before I won a Global Crowdfunding Award. But...back to my alleged crime and the loving guests.

They gave me some of the most precious birthday gifts I have ever received, like a smooth healing stone, pressed flowers, an original song, hand written notes, and an orange.Paddy wagons came! I pleaded to just take me. The hotel claimed I was not staying there. We were all trespassing.

But guess what. American Express validated my credit card reservation and charges at the hotel.

After waiting hours at the police station I summoned the press. It wasn't that difficult when my Kisses comic strip was published world wide, including the London Daily News which syndicated KISSES throughout Europe.

So there I was on the steps of the Vine Street Police Station sharing the views about justice and peace my tattooed friends honored.

Imagine if this luxury hotel which is now Four Seasons at Park Lane treated guests the same way. I should invite Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga with their tattoos to my 71st birthday and see if they arrest us.

But now....believe it or not, I am having an equally embarrassing costly dilemma with American Express.

I have had an American Express Card since 1975 when KISSES was first syndicated. But my Platinum card says 1983. Instead of being accepted everywhere it was hardly accepted anywhere.I think their famous ad "Don't leave home without it" should come with a WARNING

It was turned down for a $300 charge at a Hilton in Philadelphia. It was turned down at a Hilton in San Diego, and I was locked out of my room!

Amex allegedly gives 75,000 miles for the Platinum Card

I noticed the 75,000 reward when they were using my photo to advertise - without my knowledge, permission, or any compensation

I didn't receive any miles. Nada. It also "gives" points for business purchases. My printing charges were denied at Fed Ex in Miami. I was trying to buy an Apple computer and after keeping us on the phone until the store was closing, they would only give me $2700 worth of credit, not enough for the purchase .

The big reason to have this Platinum card which charges $400 a year for an annual fee (how dumb is that with all the no interest, no annual fee cards available that pay us 5%?) for the Celebrity VIP airport lounges. It sounded great since I travel as much as 40 weeks a year. It is a LIE.

First of all, there is no VIP lounge in Fort Lauderdale. Second, the only one I found was the same old Airline club I already belong to - and I mean old, since the '70's you know, like the Red Carpet Lounge, or Delta's for which I receive their Flying Orchid honor. Third, they failed to send me the VIP card, unless it was stolen because American Express sends a credit card they leave on your porch for anyone to grab - no signature required. You don't even have to know my mother's maiden name, passwords, and be disconnected. Just pick it up and go shopping. They were pretty good about giving me the credits after the police report.

I had to put a hotel bill for more than $3000 American Express denied onto another card. When I complained to Amex, they went ahead and charged the denied amount. So now I am charged twice, on each credit card.

For the first time in all these years I have been turned over for Collection by Amex. And they OWE me! Hello? American Express canceled the card and charged me an additional $400 annual fee.

American Express and I both have our offices in South Florida..Why is someone form India. calling my Hawaii studio (808 923 KISS) in the middle of the night? Try me in Miami (305 823 KISS phone/fax)

So for now, Cleveland's mother is lucky she got a Vivian Greene KISSES greeting card instead of the American Express Card. My cards make people happy.

My work makes a difference in the world. My trademark INVEST IN LOVE ? helps balance the highest good with the bottom line. I could certainly help them Anyone worthy of a Platinum card is not going to be intimidated by these collection tactics - or remain a loyal cardholder for 44 years. When they resolve my situation I would consider helping Amex too.

AmEx - although I've had offers, I have never used them.? I don't travel any anymore so it's seems counterintuitive since, as you stated, I can get a return by using other credit cards, which I do.? ?Love it that you're using the linkedin header I made for you!? It looks great, eh??
