Have you ever thought about it???
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of a continuous effort to improve the online visibility of the brand. It is an attempt to rank on Google Search Result first page and to enhance natural search to improve the conversion rate and to gain organic traffic plus engagement.
But are you making money from it? or just doing it because other marketers are investing in it?
If you are elevating positive results and money from SEO than tap your back! Because you are doing great with your SEO. But, if you are making an investment in SEO only because your competitors are leveraging it then, please don’t favor yourself.
Getting influenced by others success to do something valuable and taking things into action only because others are implementing, both the things are totally DIFFERENT!
As a marketer, you need to understand the basic do’s and don’ts of SEO. So let’s quantify the checklist to determine whether you are making or losing money on SEO marketing.
1. Are You Visible On Google Search Engine?
“The best place to hide a dead body is the second page of Google Search.”
This Google quote simply shows Google consists of uncountable dead bodies from years and years. So, it’s high time to check whether you belong to this dead body category or not! For this ask your team to check your web pages are appearing on Google Search or they have just become dead bodies!
If you are investing in SEO but are not visible on Google Search Engine’s First Page then you are just wasting your time and money. Not a single online user prefers to visit Google’s 2nd or 3rd page. I am not bragging but, for users, Google’s 4th or 10th page doesn’t exist!
If a user doesn’t find his required information within the first search he simply switches by typing other related terms on Google Search bar to get his result but, within the first page of Google.
So, check up to how many pages you are visible to your target audience before you strategize your next SEO strategy.
Ranking on Google‘s first page matters a lot! As it helps in elevating engagement and organic traffic on the website. Not only this, the websites that rank on the first page acquires 91.5% traffic of Google.
For this check whether your SEO team is leveraging the correct terms and keywords! The bucket is full of SEO keywords. So, when it comes to select the keywords for your content it’s good to become choosy as it can improve your ranking and performance. It’s true having quality content is more important but these keywords can decide whether you are going to reach out your target audience or not!
Perform proper keyword research and learn the basic SEO terms like paid difficulty, CPC, SEO difficulty, and search volume of your keywords to increase your chance to rank on the first page of Google.
2. Are You Utilizing The Tools Or Just Paying For Them?
It’s obvious, it wouldn’t be possible to detect the right keywords until and unless you invest in SEO tools. Let me tell you the SEO market is full of tools like Semrush, Ubersuggest, SEO Minion, Moz, Yoast, Keywords Everywhere, LSIgraph, and many more!
So, it would be wrong to say there is a drought for SEO tools. But still, we can say there is a scarcity in terms of its usage.
Having and leveraging is not the same!
Marketers use both free and paid SEO tools to take their business ahead. But somehow they forget the most important thing. That is Training! To get returns from your investments it’s prior you provide proper training to turn your SEO Team into SEO Experts. There are terms like search difficulty, CPC, orphan content, slug, rich snippet, SEO title, meta description, and many more which are not easy to grab within the first read.
Give your team some time to catch all the SEO terms by heart. As it will ultimately benefit your business in leveraging all the tools in the most appropriate manner. In this way, you won’t only pay for the tools but also get back from it!
So, don’t showcase, USE them!
3. Do You Have Content For Which You Can Do SEO?
For implementing SEO tips and tricks you first need to have content prepared by your side. If searching and identifying the right keywords is important and if it requires concentration and time than producing quality content is also not a thing kids can do!
Crafting content of more than 1500+ words takes time and patience. So, during this time period, you can ask your SEO team to work on the broken links and monitor whether the content posted before ranking on Google or become dead!
In this way, both your team will stay busy in improving their skills plus the value of your site.
4. Are Your Employees Just Doing It Because They Are Getting Paid?
We all work for money! We can’t neglect we are human. We never do stuff that doesn’t benefit us!
But it’s also true we can’t craft or do something extraordinary or things of appreciation without being passionate about it.
They are your employees, it’s your responsibility to pamper them and recognize their continuous efforts towards your business. Appreciate their each and every move taken to enhance your online presence.
Along with this check whether your SEO team is coming up with new innovative ideas or they are just doing it because it’s their job!
If the SEO team interacts with you on a daily bases and discusses the tools you are using and which you should consider in the future. Then it simply shows they are enjoying their job and loving to play with Google algorithms.
But it’s also true you can’t be perfect until and unless you keep improvising yourself. Ask your team to subscribe to the channels from which they can stay updated with the new SEO trends and techniques.
Staying active on social networking site is also a great option. For this check out the social profile of Rand Fishkin and Britney Muller from Moz. They are perfect examples of this. They have maintained their social profile at such a level that their audience waits for their every next step. So, it would be good if you emphasize your employees in creating such a social profile that audience wants to follow. It will benefit both your employees and the business.
5. Do You Know What You Will Do When Google Dance?
Since 2012, Google is updating its core algorithms each day to provide personalized search experience to its user. In fact, Google Community releases 655 new updates every year for its customers.
Google shows its dance every other second! So, do you know what you will do if it happens?
If today you are ranking #1 with numerous keywords and getting rich snippet then it’s the thing of today. You can’t predict the future. Anything can happen in just a next minute. It’s Google if it can make you rise, it can also show you ground.
Therefore, It becomes essential to stay closely connected with Google algorithms and new updates. Ask your SEO team to daily brush up their knowledge base with new Google updates.
6. What Is Your Goal?
Goal! One word but means a lot.
A goal decides where your complete marketing exertions will revolve around. So, before assigning tasks, determine what you want to achieve from it? Decide whether your SEO efforts will revolve around bringing Traffic, Engagement, or Conversion on site!
Once you have concluded your SEO goal then no one can leave you behind in the competition. So, set infinite goals to make money from your SEO strategy.
Waste Or Use: It’s All Up To You!
SEO is one of the promotional strategies that has acquired many marketers eyes from the past few years. But when it comes to making money from it only a few succeed! Therefore in this post, I have tried to mention the checklist through which you can conclude whether your business is making or losing from SEO Campaign.
