"If you want to sell to everybody, sell ice cream"
These are not my words. I made a free adaptation from Steve Jobs' wise words. But what does this phrase mean?
I don't know anyone who doesn't like ice cream, but even then, these words are not completely true.
Let me show you why:
Imagine opening the ice cream shop of your dreams, the perfect one. You have the creamiest vanilla, the richest chocolate, and the quirkiest flavors, all in one place. You think:
"I sell the best ice cream in town, everybody will want to come".
And here's the big BUT: Who's everybody?
Is it the high school sweethearts on their first date? The parents with three toddlers? The woman who craves for ice cream after her pilates classes?
And most importantly, how much money and time are they willing to spend at your ice cream shop? Will all of these people choose the same ice cream shop? The answer is a big and clear NO, and the same applies to your business!
You simply can't sell to everybody, or you will end up selling to no one!
